Love is amazing, as many people describe it. Whether it's between two or multiple people, a strong relationship is like a dream you'd never want to wake up out of. Some people thought about it all the time and some cared but didn't have it on their minds as much. Catra however had someone on her mind every minute of every hour of everyday. A fantasy she played in her head as comfort knowing that the person would never like her more than a best friend.Today was just like any other day, a gloomy one. The sky was cloudy and grey, the air was cold, and Catra had little to no motivation to attend her classes. The boring uniforms that stripped every student of their creativity and the strict standards everyone had to follow, Catra especially hated every minute of it. It felt like a military school, although she wouldn't be surprised if that's what it actually was. Classes here at Horde Academy were self defense, martial arts, and the basic four subjects: math, english, science, and history.
"You'd think with all these strict rules they'd actually allow two girls to be in the same dorm." Catra said, holding the pillow up high to drop it and let it plop on her face.
Adora, Catra's roommate and best friend, brushed her hair and grabbed her hair tie from on top of the dresser. "Mmm, why wouldn't they?"
Catra rolled her eyes at Adora's question, she didn't want to explain the joke for two reasons. She didn't know if Adora was into girls and she was too lazy to explain it. "Ah nevermind.." her voice trailed off as she turned her head to the wall. She loved Adora, she really did but she reminded Catra of a golden retriever; cute but dull-minded at times.
"Life is going by so fast you know? One minute we're living junior high with ease and the next we are already near the end of the first semester of junior year."
Adora chuckled at Catra's words, ending it with a sigh. She set the brush down on the dresser and walked over to Catra's bed. She sat near the edge of bed, which alerted the brown haired girl to turn back to face her. Adora grabbed a small bottle of eyeliner. "Don't move." she smiled, reaching over to do Catra's eyeliner. As always Adora made sure the line was sharp and at a certain angle. "Okay Done! I think you may want to change into your uniform before Shadow Weaver gets mad."
"Alright, Move." Catra rolled over and shoved Adora off onto the floor, making Adora laugh. She quickly threw her pajamas off and slipped on her uniform. She had a white button up shirt, a black skirt that went above her knees, high white socks, a pair of black mary janes, and to top it all off she wore a red tie. She packed her hair into a high ponytail just so she wouldn't have to have a talk with Vice Principal Shadow Weaver. "See, done and it didn't even take that long." Catra taunted.
"Actually, you usually take long if you count the amount of time you take in the bathroom." Adora chuckled.
Adora's laugh is so beautiful and contagious, Catra thought to herself.
She walked over to Adora, who was standing in front of the dresser's mirror, and put an arm around her. "Yeah, yeah. My hair is a lot to take care of so of course I'm going to take a long time. Sometimes I just want to chop it all off but then I remember I'd look like an egg without my hair."
"A cute egg." Adora turned her head and smiled.
It almost sounded like she was flirting with her, but the chance was low since Adora is a very touchy person with everyone. She was a very friendly person and always cared for everyone, but her optimistic personality often let her down when she put faith in people who'd take advantage of that. People like Shadow Weaver.
Shadow Weaver, known as 'the widow in red'. Three failed marriages and a face halfway burned off later, she's an administrator at Horde Academy. Horde Academy is what many students describe as a hell hole. No one is exaggerating when they say it's a hell hole, the building used to be a psych ward.
