Snow falls on Kuoh Town. It was Christmas Eve and all were in the holiday spirit. Especially for a young boy.

"Time for bed. Remember, you have to be asleep when he comes down the chimney." The boy's guardian said.

"Okay." The young child got in bed as his guardian took out a book from the shelf.

"A special story for a special young man. For this is an ancient story. Perhaps the first story ever told." He said, sitting down on a chair.

"what kind of story?" The boy asked, going under the sheets.

"Well, let us find out." The guardian opens the book and starts to read.

At the dawn of time. Man and the creatures of magic lived together under Aiglin, the Father Tree.

"Wasn't it the Tree of Life?" The boy interrupts.

"It is, but if you're going to interrupt." The guardian warns.

"Sorry." The boy apologized.

It was there, under the shadow of the Father Tree, that man and his infinite greed first dreamt of expanding his dominion over the entire Earth. So it came to past as a bitter war began between the magical beings, Sons of the Earth. the Blood of many Elves, Ogre, and Goblin was spilled and their sovereign, King Balor, the one armed king of the Elves, watched the slaughter with dragged and despair. Till one day...

'Who dares enter this chamber uninvited? Speak.'

'My lord.'

It was the master of the Goblin Blacksmiths offering to build the king a new army.

'A mechanical army. 70 times. 70 soldiers that can never tire, never know hunger nor pain, and never be stopped.'

Prince Nuada, Silver Lance and son of Balor, full of pride and anger begged his father to agree.

'You must. This is our victory assured.'

The king loved his son so and agreed to the ill advice. Not another life will be lost amongst the children of the Earth.

'Build me the army.'

The goblins worked night and day, and day and night, in their finest workshops and they built a army of gold. The Golden Army. A crown was forged from the gold to allow those of royal blood to command that army.

'I am King Balor, leader of the Golden Army, is there anyone who disputes my right?'

And in his thorn room, no one uttered a word. So the army swore fealty to him. Man returned and felt the Earth trembled. The sky darkened with monstrous shapes. The army knew no bonds. Had no remorse. Felt no pity. Never showed mercy. It extinguished all life not knowing difference between man, woman and child. And King Balor's heart grew heavy with regret as his victory was gained to high a price. So he agreed to a truce and divided the crown into three pieces. One for Man and two for the Sons of the Earth. In exchange, Man will keep to the cities while Sons of the Earth will own the forests. The truce and these boundaries he declared would be honored by their sons of the sons of their sons until the end of time. But Prince Nuada did not believe in the promises of Man.

'No.'

'Brother, please.'

'No!'

He marched away into exile. Vowing to return when the Sons of the Earth ever needed him. The Golden Army was locked away inside the Earth. And there it is to this day waiting for a new wearer of the crown. Silent, still and indestructible.

"Indestruble.... I-Indestra..." The boy tried to pronounce the word, but fails.

"Indestructible. Meaning it cannot be destroyed." The guardian said.

"Not even by you?" The boy asked.

"Not even by me." The guardian closes the book before getting up.

"Is it true or just a story? And if someone were to challenge him will there be a fight?" The boy asked, laying down on the pillow.

"My boy, maybe someday you'll find out." The guardian turns off the light and leaves the room.
