The estate, where the Royally Given reside in, is actually here in this Earth dimension. Kind of. The estate and its residence is owned by the Royally Given. For the humans, it's just a rich family who bought this wonderous and beautiful estate. The good thing is, the place is so far into the mountains, surrounded by many trees. Also, once we pass a certain area of the forest, we pass by the barrier, or as we call it, a border.
Once we pass the border, we are in the estate but transported to our dimensions version of the estate. As we travel there in cars, we are transported there riding in pod types of carriages pulled by one or two creatures. At least that's how I remember it, since only once we had returned to Armornia for my father and other soldiers to get recognition of their brave and hard work.
The ride, right now, is painfully long.... and quiet. One hour on the road, and I don't think I can handle another second with this tension.
"Mother, I'm sorry for what I said. I never thought of you selling me off, but it pains me to know you rather give my freedom to the royals instead of living my life, even if it was being like father."
She didn't say anything but look out through the dark tinted windows of the car. I grabbed my phone and started going through messages I had recieved from friends here close to my home in Earth. I tried reaching Kalani, but she didnt respond. She wouldn't be joining the ball since she was already on her honeymoon with her husband, Magnus. Her parents married her off at the young age of nineteen but in this case they were both actually in love.
I needed someone to talk to, that wasn't my mother, because clearly she doesn't see my way. I sigh and put my phone back into my clutch purse. The purse that my mother suddenly yanks away from me.
"No technology from this world is to be taken out at Armonia, Aaralyn. You know that."
Right. Once we are back in Terrathe dimension, we use our long distance communications through mind readings. Or use our abilities to transport important information, or other things. That's our way of communicating with those far from us. There is no need for phones or other types of technology that are required on earth. We have our own type of technology. Ones that have their special purposes. The technology here is a little more advanced than theirs, but they will eventually get there. Still, I did forget this rule. I'm just so used to being over there for so long, and well I befriended humans and got used to their ways. I hung out with them more than The Given residing in our area. They don't know about me, since I try to act and be more like them. Especially since I had to go school to blend in and go with norms there.
I sigh once again and watch the nighy sky, with the full moon already up higher in sky than it was before. I'm not in Terrathe yet, and I already feel my freedom slipping away.
"I love you Aaralyn. Whether or not you get chosen tonight, I love you and I want what's best for you dear. Just know, whatever happens from tonight and onward, it's because of fate." She grabs my purse and takes out the rose matte lipstick and retouches my lips. My mother, the perfectionist, I guess.
"Now, I will let you choose between the abilities you have. Other girls here only have one to two strong abilities, other than the usual but I will let you choose only one. Just make it a good one. Think about it honey, and make it quick."
Ah yes. Our abilities. There will be a time, where chosen ones get to show their special abilities that make us part of The Given. Many call it their powers. This is because, aside that we can talk through our minds, teleport items, and others being geniuses with creating technologies, some of the Given have two types of powerful, strong abilities and some just one. They can range between levetating themselves or items, creating forcefields, controlling an element, incredible strengths, being amazingly fast and so much more.
