The four of them had been chatting away for what felt like hours before the compartment doors slid open again, only this time it was an older girl in green robes with a shiny pin that read 'HEAD GIRL' on her chest

"I've been instructed to tell everyone to put their robes on, we will be arriving at Hogwarts soon," the girl told them with a warm smile and her eyes widened slightly when they landed on Sirius and a big grin crossed her face

"Oh hey Andromeda! I can't belive you got head girl, that's amazing!" Sirius congratulated his cousin with a wide smile

"Thanks Sirius. Lucious got Head boy, so the family is pretty proud. Mother was exctatic when she found out that I got head girl, she even brought me a new broom! I'll see you later though, I better go and finish telling everyone to get ready, and the four of you better get ready too. Good luck all of you!" she said with a kind smile and then left the compartment

"Who was that?" James asked, a judgemental look on his face. He truly did not like Slytherins, apparently not even the kind ones.

"That was Andromeda Black, she is one of my cousins," Sirius said with a small nod, she was the only cousin that he got along with. At least he could stand Narcissa, but Bellatrix was a whole different story. "She's my only good one two, the rest of them are a bunch of tossers. All they care about is blood status..."

Remus' attention was suddenly peaked as he began to pay more attention to the conversation, and it seemed that Emily's interest had also been peaked.

James let out a snort of laughter, "Merlin! Blood status is such a lousy debate. I mean its just blood! What has it got to do with anything? It has absolutely nothing to do with how good your magic is. Take Squibs for example! you can get pureblood squibs, and they have absolutely no magic!"

"Tell me about it! My family is one of the sacred 28, I come from a long line of pure-blood wizards and they are all obsessed over it, they've even got my little brother hooked on it. They have been supporting some wizard that wants to stamp out all witches and wizards who don't come from a line of purebloods. They think that it makes them superior!"

"Honestly, it's so stupid. I'm a pureblood. And I know that it has nothing to do with how cool I am," James said, finishing his sentence and receiving a few snorts from the other people in the compartment

"I wonder where you get your giant ego from," Emily asked him with a playful grin on her face, "I'm a halfblood, dads a muggle and my mums a witch, it was a real shock for him when he found out," Emily finishes with a grin

"So you three think that anyone could be a great wizard, no matter what they are and what their blood status is?" Remus spoke up softly, "I'm a half blood... my mother is a muggle and my dad is a wizard, he works for the ministry," Remus told them

"Of course it doesn't matter!" Emily, James and Sirius all told him with wide smiles on their faces, and he couldn't help but feel at home... but he knew that he shouldn't, because if they found out what he really was, he was sure that they would hate him, they would think that he was a monster.

"You said your last name was Lupin right? Like Lyall Lupin? The one who wrote te Werewolf Restriction Act 1963?" Sirius asked, an impressed look on his face as Remus nodded his head, "wow, that's really cool. My uncle Abraxas Malfoy works in the ministry too you know."

"Maybe they are friends?" Emily spoke up with a smile on her face but Sirius shook his head

"Doubt that, no offence Remus... my uncle wouldn't be friends with your father since he married a muggle," Sirius said and they all nodded, Remus didn't take any offence to it, he knew that there were still wizards out there like that, and he was almost certain that Sirius wasn't like that.
