"You were good to me"

Seeing everyone happily eating with their friends was a normal sight but painful to me. Being away from friends in a different school is just suffocating when you realise how attached you are to people.

I walked back to class as usual, not eating anything nor grabbing a snack. It's been like this for a while. Skipping meals everyday and just eating cookies or chips.

Putting on earphones as I walk through the corridors of the school, greeting teachers on the way.

When lunch was over, I went back to class, sitting away from everyone as usual. Not being close to anyone in class means being rejected by everyone and always getting with the worse students during projects.

Classes ended as the clock struck 1.30 pm. Everyone walks out in their usual cliques to the dorms to get ready for our afternoon activities.

I went to my usual activity, taekwondo. Kicking and punching or just working out in general is just a nice way to vent out my frustrations. Although I recently couldn't go due to my orchestra activities, it's been held off for the week and allowing me to return to my taekwondo activities.

When bowing to the coach and my superiors after stretching, I noticed a new student in the same year as me, staring at me. She seemed curious for some reason. I shrugged it off, thinking that she never notice me in the school.

Once it was time to get back to the dorms, she walked up to me. "Hey Y/N, wanna get dinner together later?" She asked, smiling softly. "I'm Arlette by the way." She added. "I will have to decline, thanks for the invitation though." I replied, turning on my heel and walking away.

Once at the dorm, I sighed as I laid back on my bed. Everyone was doing their own thing and I wasn't close to anyone anyways. "Rio" I called out to the girl in the bed next to me. "What time is it?" I asked, closing my eyes for a quick break from the light around me. "5.54" She silently muttered. "Thanks" I said, feeling lazy to even go out for dinner.

After everyone went out to dinner, I went to lock myself in my locker to avoid getting caught by the prefects swarming the block. Taking out my phone, I went on to social media. Not really chatting with anyone outside the school since I barely even talk to my old friends anymore

When it was finally time dinner hour was over, I slid out my locker to see some sort of box on my bed along with a note. I picked it up and read the note attached to it. 'Meet me outside the cafeteria at 10.' I made a mental note to go at the time stated and simply shrugged the thoughts running through my head. I opened the box to see chocolates. What is this? Valentines?

-Time skip to 10pm-

I went to the cafeteria to see a silhouette of a girl standing by the entrance and students walking into the cafeteria to buy some food. I walked up to the girl and muttered a single hi. I mentally sighed when the girl turned around and turning out to be Arlette. "What do you need?" I asked, trying to get straight to the point. "Well... Now that you're here, let's head in. I'm buying." She answered, dragging me along to a seat after the sentence.
