A Frenemy

»»————- ➴ ————-««

"You definitely needed my help. Don't worry I'm here to guide." Cassidy assured admiring herself in the dressing room mirror.  You leaned against the opposite wall with a scowl on your face.  She invited herself along with you claiming that 'you would choose the ugliest outfits.'

"You want to help.  Get the hell out my dressing room!" You suggested harshly.  She scoffed and looked at you through the mirror.  "Just change right now, I don't care y/n." She confessed turning red. You smirked and Cassidy took notice of that.

"Keep smirking and I'll slap you bitch.  Now put on the damn outfit." She sneered at at you.  You threw up your hands in defensive and started to undress.

You slipped off your jeans and Cassidy took notice of the tattoo on inked on your thigh.  "Who gave you that ugly tattoo again? Was it Maggie?" She asked facing you.

Rolling your eyes you answered, "No, you remember my old friend Jiro from UA-"

She held her hand up to indicate for you to stop, "Gross, stop speaking I don't care anymore."

You could basically feel the anger rolling off her as she turned back to the mirror.  It amused you on how much she resented U.A.

Even before you showed up, she despised them. Once you did arrive and she found out what happened to you, her dislike turned to hate.

"Cassidy, to this day I still don't know why you hate them so much. Shit I think you hate them more than me sometimes." You tried to joke tying your top. She glared at you with icy blue eyes that could make anyone cower.

"How could you not. Your supposed friends called you a villain, a manipulative bitch, a waste of time-"

"Actually they said a waste of space, but yea close enough." You interrupted picking up the skirt Cassidy picked out for you.

She rolled her eyes but continued, "Whatever same shit.  I thought they were cocky assholes before, but now I think they're some rude shitty assholes who are just plain stupid and lost a good friend."

You both froze. Within the past months you two just decided to tolerate each other, but this was the first time she referred to you as a friend.  A big smile came on your face as you realized what Cassidy admitted.

"Tell anyone I called you a good friend and you're fucking dead." She threatened poking at your chest, feeling embarrassed. The smile wouldn't leave your face, but you nodded anyways. 'She's cute like this'  you thought sheepishly. But you be dammed if you ever told her.

Cassidy then became aware that you were now fully clothed in the outfit she has chosen for you. Squealing she made you do a full 360 for her.  Clapping her hands together she praised herself, "Aren't I just the best? Come on you have to admit it? Oh my god I might just steal that top it's perfect." She continued gushing and you couldn't help but return a smile. 'Damn she really is cute when she's not being such a-'

"Cassidy?! Are you in here? Which room are you in? Cassidy?!" An annoying voice called out. You groaned throwing your head back knowing exactly who that was.  Cassidy smiled hearing two pairs of shoes walking towards the dressing room.  "I'm in here.  Wait for me in the store.  AND DON'T BUY ANYTHING!" She ordered her two friends.

"Of course Cass!"

"Don't worry we'll be waiting in purse section!"

Their footsteps scurried away and Cassidy started undressing out of the dress she intended to buy. You felt your face get hot and turned away letting her dress. "So why did you invite your little zombies? Needed someone to carry your bags?" You asked.

She scoffed adjusting her top, "They're not like your dumb little corpses that you make y/n. Plus I don't want to spend the whole day with you alone. I rather get bitten by a rat."

You rolled your eyes expecting this behavior from her. "I don't make them.  They were once people with a soul and well now they aren't.  So yeah like your friends." That earned you another glare making you shrug.

"Just hurry up and get dressed, and since I'm so nice I'll even pay for the outfit.  Thank me later." She grabbed her things and walked out the dressing room leaving you alone.  You sighed and started to get dressed, but felt a chill go through your body.

"White girl is so rude. Why the hell did you go shopping with ha?" A ghost of an older black woman appeared in the dressing room.  You laughed and finished dressing.  "She kind of invited herself, but I don't mind since she paying."

"Yeah okay baby, just don't let your friends push you around. And if they do remember those are not real friends."

Disappearing, the comforting ghost left a smile on your face. You gathered up your items and left the room to find Cassidy. Wandering around the store you saw her yelling at her friends for some reason that you did not care to ask about.

What the ghost said was irrelevant in your opinion.  Cassidy wouldn't be considered your friend.  Wouldn't consider her a foe either.  If anything you both thought of each other to be frenemies.
