Wandering through the graveyard it felt like something was watching me. The gravestones stood silently, row upon row like soldiers long forgotten. The air began to turn black all around me, engulfing me in a green and dark fog.

Then suddenly, a shrill cry echoed in the mist. I had become aware of myself, but my body had not. My gaze shifted to the corner of my foresight. A shadow seemed to move. It hadn't been there a moment ago. My heartbeat quickened and my pupils contracted with fear. It was a dream, I knew, but I couldn't ignore the near reality. The near reality of icy fingers gripping my arm in the absurd darkness.

I urgently awoke from my unconsciousness, scanned the room and breathed a heavy sigh of relief. "It was just that stupid dream again" I muttered to myself as I got off the bed.

I've been having similar dreams lately, they've all been the same except for this one, it was slightly different. This time, I really felt something. The disturbing thought left me with a shiver down my spine and I proceeded to get ready for school.

About a month ago, I transferred to Hallows high in Cali. And about three days ago, Mr Reighnton was reported missing. We used to live in Australia, but we moved for... Multiple reasons.

Once ready, I headed downstairs to meet my younger sister, Naomi, and my Mum having breakfast. "Is Dad still sleeping?" I asked my mom. She looked at me blankly with that face she always makes when she realizes she's forgotten something.

My question was initially met with silence, which obviously didn't last long. "ARTHUR!" she yelled. In unison, me and Naomi winced in pain at our mother's crow-like cry.

"I'll get him" my younger brother Isaac replied. He entered our parents room, and surely enough a few seconds later, we hear our Dad and his urgent footsteps. The rest of us chuckle, and I help set the breakfast table whilst we wait for Dad.

"Also, where's John?" I asked my mum.

"He's already at school, his geometry teacher already has an assessment for his class" She replied. 'Poor John' I thought to myself. He's really been trying too hard this past month, he's still not used to the American education system being less vigorous. Like bro, I tell him, he's only a Freshman. Apparently, everything is way easier that year.

Once everyone is down, we all begin sharing the food and eating. "I have soccer try outs today!" I announced. Everyone, except Isaac looks at me knowingly. "What?" I exclaimed.

"Nothing" Naomi replied.

"Just that you've already tried out for Basketball and tennis" My Dad went on.

"And, that you have a swim team and track team tryouts in the next two days" My Mum continued sarcastically.

"You know I would argue, but we can't be late" I replied. "Come on Isaac" We cleaned up and I got my longboard, whilst making a bee-line for the door.

"Isaac!" my Mum yelled "could you please convince her to stop"

"Hey" he replied "I'm not involved, I think its great." He continued "I've been telling the guys at football(US: Soccer) that my sis could violate them. Its a win-win situation." He grinned. And on that note we got on our boards and were off.

Once we arrived at campus, we went our separate ways and headed for class. Me and my brother are twins, so we have hardly any classes together, I'm older though we're both seventeen. Registration and the first three classes go by with a blur. It's now lunch and I'm headed for the cafeteria. On my way there, I pass by the physical activity bulletin board. It has all the flyers for different sports team, but the Taekwondo one attracts my attention. I force myself to tear my gaze away from it. That would be my last resort. Once I enter the Cafeteria, I get myself some chicken and milk, and head towards my friends. On my way though, I bump into John.

"Oh hey, how was the geometry test?" I ask him.

"Great actually" he replied "It was all multiple choice, so it was pretty easy".

"See, I told you, and you thought I was kidding when I said it'll probably be mainly multiple choice" I continued. I ruffled his hair and let him go off to his friends. I then joined the girls mid gossip. Amanda and Kana were going on about Mark's Latest Adventures of Jerking About. This time apparently, he was gonna show up at the boys football tryouts and try to start something with some Sophomore. Once I heard that, I quickly finished chatting with the girls and headed for the football pitch.  On my way there, I met up with Dez and Rowan; they were also going to tryouts.

"Okay guys, let's run through the plan" I started "First, we all go to our separate try outs"

"Then" Dez continued "We all volunteer to be first in line, in attempt to finish quickly and get outta there"

"And finally, we go separate ways, to not bring attention to ourselves. Meeting up with Amanda and Kana at the courtyard" Rowan finishes. Once we finalized the plan, we proceeded. We were determined not to let Mark get in our way. But really, when do things ever really go to plan? Like really?
