TW: MENTIONS OF DEATH AND KIDNAPPING, FOOD

15/03/2022

02:00

Jordan woke up to the cold, hard floor of the street. This was unusual to say the least, she was certain that she'd gone to sleep in her bed at home. She looked up, seeing nothing in the pitch black sky, not even the moon or stars. There was no source of light, yet she still felt as if she was being watched.

03:00

Dove woke up, shivering. They felt the cold, wet ground beneath them. But it wasn't ground. It was wet and it was cold, but it had that weird mushy feeling of a beach in mid-winter. That's were they were. They must be at a beach, there was no other explanation. But their hometown didn't have a beach...

03:21

Eric was the next to awaken, on the steps of a large building. Had he been kidnapped? That seemed like a tragic end to a tragic life. "Don't think like that," he muttered to himself. "Just man up." He took a deep breath and tried to wake himself up as much as possible, but he had no plan. This shit only happened in the movies. Not to people like him.

03:45

Layla woke up abruptly from a nightmare, just to find she was living another one. Hyperventilating, the sea of pure darkness outside didn't help, but it took her a minute to realise she was in unfamiliar surroundings. There was nothing she could do but wait.

03:56

When James woke up, the first thing he realised was his soaking wet hair. After a few moments, he realised his clothes were wet as well. The cold from his clothes sent shivers throughout his body, but there was nothing he could do about it. The ground below was wet as well, so it must have been raining. But why was he sleeping outside in the first place?

04:02

Leslie woke up next. Everything was damp and unfamiliar, but they were a foster kid. Unfamiliar was his familiar. But she was 16 now, they were out of the system and he had his own place now. So why was this feeling coming back? Where the hell was he? Their foster families always said that God would punish her for practicing witchcraft. Was this how?

04:15

Ayana awoke with a yawn. The ground beneath her was damp, soft and uncomfortable. The jet black sky provided no source of light or comfort. Since she couldn't see anything, she ran her fingers through the ground beneath. It was grassy, but mud got on her hands. She didn't have a garden, so she couldn't figure out where she was.

04:45

Thomas stretched before running a finger through his hair with a yawn. He wasn't 100% sure where he was. Hell, the only thing they knew was that they were on Earth, and this whole thing was so mysterious that he couldn't even say that they were certain about that. But you only live once - and assuming that he was still alive - they weren't that worried.

05:00

Bee turned over, slowly waking up. She stretched and yawned, reaching for her phone with her eyes still shut. Her phone wasn't there. Fuck. She finally opened her eyes, seeing a dark, unlit sky instead of the streetlights that littered her town. Huh.

05:10

When Emily awoke, she was confused. She was completely alone in the middle of nowhere. She whispered "Merde" under her breath. This was scary, her friends would often joke about how she would be the first to die in a horror movie, and she didn't really want to make this a reality. She didn't really know what was going on, if this was an experiment, a simulation or the zombie apocalypse, but she did not want to risk it. Hopefully sunrise would be soon.

05:30

Chloe woke up, feeling very alone. Today already felt like one of those days that just wouldn't work and the universe seemed to confirm that when she opened her eyes and her brain registered exactly how little she knew about her surroundings.

05:41

Abigail woke up pretty early. To her, that was an understatement. She'd classify it as "a completely ungodly hour of the night". She wasn't exactly a morning person. She sat up and rubbed her eyes as they started to focus. It took her a few minutes to realise that she was sitting on the floor of a market that appeared to be completely abandoned. The artificial lights lit up the food on the unsupervised stalls, and she was hungry, but she didn't want to risk eating it. Was this a test? Like one of those studies when they place a marshmallow in front of a kid to see if they'd eat it?

06:03

Sunny woke up on the wet ground of what appeared to be an orchard. They watched the sunrise, the sky lighting up in a variety of colours. Luckily, the sunrise provided ample light. Sunny had no idea where they were or how they got there. They were completely alone in this huge orchard in the middle of nowhere. Great.

06:37

As soon as Char woke up, she stood up. They immediately realised that she was alone in an unfamiliar environment, and this was pretty scary. But the sun was up, so that was a good sign, right? They walked around the empty field wondering if they should call for help or stay silent. Staying silent would mean that no one could come but calling for help could attract whatever the fuck put her in the field in the first place.

06:59

Lana rolled over in her sleep before sitting up and yawning. They groggily rubbed their eyes and stretched. Then she felt the grass underneath her. It felt nothing like the mattress at their home. She stood up, deciding to explore. There was a river nearby. They weren't sure whether or not the water was safe for drinking but they could see their reflection in the water. She looked normal, apart from their hair being a bit messy and the lack of makeup. They had no idea what happened, and they weren't sure if they wanted to find out. After all, ignorance is bliss, right?

07:14

Duke wandered around the empty school. He didn't know how or why they were there or why he was alone. This wasn't their school, it was a primary school and he was an American middle school student. According to a clock in a music classroom, it was 7:14 AM. They had been wandering around the school for what felt like an eternity, going from classroom to classroom, all empty. He found the teacher lounge and sat down there. They filled a kettle with water and boiled it, remembering something someone told them about boiled water killing germs. This was taking a painfully long time.
