"Do you want to hang out tomorrow?" One of my best friends, Jaden , suddenly asked as we walked to last period. My eyes widened as I looked over at him

"But tomorrow's Valentine's day." I informed him. ya know just to be sure.

"I know. We don't have to go out or anything just come over and we can watch a movie or something." I shifted my binder to the other arm as I thought.

"Oh, okay so should I ask the others about this or..." I said slowly."well I was just thinking me and you tomorrow if ya know that's ok?" He suggested. I was for sure blushing by now.

"Ok. Um sure ya that sounds like fun." I told him trying my best to keep my voice steady. "Sweet. I'll See you then." He said sounding a little relieved. I watched him walk down the hallway before I turned into my class. I overthink way too much, but I honestly didn't know what to think about what just happened.That's a first.

When I got home later that day after student government meetings and going to get slushies with my girl best friends. Telling them every little detail of what happened before with Jaden I decided to call my older sister Kameron who's currently up at college.

"ANDY!" She yelled into the phone once she picked up. I laughed pulling back the phone a little. I forgot, you always have to put the volume on low when you call Kameron.

"Gosh Kams are you trying to make me go deaf?" I asked as I laughed.

"Welllllll you haven't called me in for-ever I've missed you!" She said a little dramatically.

"I've missed you two! But you know that i've been busy with being senior class president." I told her

"I know, I know you gotta make some time for your big seester though!" She said in a baby voice. I rolled my eyes but I was still smiling.

"Anyway, do you have plans for tomorrow?" I asked nonchalantly.

"Noooooooo! Ugh I thought Trent was going to ask me to be his Valentine but I guess not. But hey there's still time- Wait a second! You wouldn't ask that unless you had plans! WHO? WHAT? WHEN? WHERE?" She started screeching. I pulled the phone back again laughing.

"Goodness Kam chill out. Jaden just asked me to hang out, nothing else. It's not like he likes me like I like him or anything. He didn't ask me to be his valentine, like that would even happen but still I don't know, he justs wants to hang out. But it was weird how he just wants to hang out with me like he specifically told me not to ask anyone else. There's probably a perfectly good reason-" Kameron cut me off before I could keep going.

"Andy! You're rambling." she said.

"I know. I'm just nervous! Does he just want to hang out or does he have another reason or maybe he asked somebody else but they couldn't come so I was just the next best thing? I just don't know!" I said exasperatedly. She was silent for a second before answering.

"Wow. You never act like this. It must be a serious crush for you too be acting like me." She stated. I sighed, she was right. It was definitely a serious crush. I had started liking Jaden 2 years ago, right when he joined our friend group when he first moved in. Everyone in the group knows and they tease me non stop but he never really got the hint I guess. that definitely didn't stop me from liking him though that's for sure. We flirt and tease and he leads me to believe that he likes me back but I always second guess myself so I've never asked or gotten a solid answer before.

"Andy, Listen to me. Tomorrow you're going to be hanging out with Jaden, and even though it's Valentine's day it doesn't change the most very important fact of all, He's your best friend. If something happens, something happens. There's no need to be nervous. Ok?"
