After the GPF ended, Victor "and Yuri" decided it would be best, for both their physical and mental stability, to take a break. So they did. After flying back to Japan, Yuri visited his family being greeted by everyone congratulating him on winning the silver medal. And so, Yuri announced that he and Victor would be taking a short break before starting with practice for the next season again.
Yuri's POV, Saturday 6:30pm
I asked my mother to help me unpack my luggage, and pack it up again for the next week's vacation, since I got tired because of all the skating .
"So Yuri~ What's up with you and Victor? Are you guys a thing" I suddenly heard. My face turned red, covering it with my hands with embarrassment.
"HUH- NONONO THERE'S NOTHING GOING ON BETWEEN US" I replied.
"Well you guys seem to be quite close, so I thought you-", she slowly replied with a gentle tone noticing my face, but stopping before finishing the sentence.
After a short, awkward, and unpleasant moment of silence, Makkachin, Victor's pet poodle, rushed into the room, and stopped right in front of me.
I slowly kneeled down, smiling at him. I patted his head as he wagged his tail, just now noticing how soft and fluffy his light brown fur actually is. "Victor must have taken real good care of you. I'm glad," I said silently, seeing my mother had already left the room.
"Of course I do! Makkachin is important to me after all.” I slowly looked up, surprised to see Victor leaning against the door frame with his left hand while placing his right on his hip with a smile on his face. Wait- was he planning on visiting my family's hot springs?
"I was thinking about relaxing in the hot springs before starting to pack again. Wanna join?" he said with an enthusiastic tone, probably already noticing what I was about to ask.
"Victor, I'm supposed to be unpacking my lugga-" I wanted to reply but Victor had already taken my hand, dragging me away, holding tightly.
We arrive at the hot springs where I talked to him for the first time, where I found out Victor’s going to be my coach, the place where it all started.
Victor took off his bathrobe and jumped into the water, my clothes got soaked just from the splash. Before I can process what’s happening, I feel a hand grab my wrist, pulling me down, and the next thing I know, I’m underwater, fully clothed. Shoes still on.
I suddenly remembered the time Victor came all the way from Russia, to my family's hot springs in Japan, to tell me that he'll be my coach from that day on, to try to help me win the gold medal at the GPF.
At first, remembering everything made me a bit anxious, knowing that eventually Victor's going to have to return to his own path getting back on the ice.
But my thoughts were interrupted by Victor grabbing my waist pulling me out of the water and right into his arms with him hugging me tightly.
I hear his heartbeat getting faster and faster each time he pulls me closer. I look up to see his face and notice tears leaving his eyes.
I catch him looking at me in the eyes with a smile forming on his face. "V-Victor are you alright?" I asked carefully, in a worried like tone, while I held his bangs away from those sparkling blue ocean eyes of his with my hand.
"Yeah, yeah of course" he giggled a little, wiping away his own tears, slowly letting go of me.
His eyes widened as if he noticed something, looking in the other direction quickly. "IS THAT KATSUDON I SMELL" he said excitedly, putting on his bathrobe and running into the kitchen.
