The drive home from work was tiring and dark, but Victoria didn't mind. Her job was worth it. A lot of people would say that bartending is just a stepping stone to a better career, sometimes to her face, but she loved it. The hours were long and left her with little social life, but she knew her passion and she had her dreams.
She would've given up the late nights though.
The winding country roads connecting her town to the nearest city were lovely during the day but an utter pain at night.
Especially when someone has broken down right in the middle of the road.
Victoria comes to a stop behind the blockage and taps her fingers on the steering wheel contemplating a different route home. The car in front is off with the bonnet open.
Victoria turns off her engine and pops her head out of the car, calling out "Excuse me, are you okay?"
A guy pops his head up from the bonnet and steps to the side of his car squinting at Victoria's head lights, she notices "Oh sorry!"
The guy begins walking towards her car, "No worries, sorry I can't get my car to start and my phone died on me." He laughs nervously scratching the back of his head.
"My phone has a bit of battery left, would you like to use it to call someone?"
"Are you sure?"
"Well there's no way I'm backing back down this lane." They both laugh, Victoria grabs her phone and steps out of her car, walking towards the stranger.
She hands over the phone, "Would you mind if I took a look? I know a bit about cars."
"Please be my guest, I'm Leon by the way."
"Victoria." They smile at each other as Leon begins to dial, Victoria walks round to the front of the car.
Poking around the engine she shouts, "I can't see anything obviously wrong. Leon?" She leans to the side of the car to see if he heard her, she can't see him.
"Leon?" Suddenly Victoria feels an arm wrap around her waist and a hand covering her mouth with a cloth. She struggles to break free, the cloth muffling her shouts. She begins to feel sleepy and suddenly everything goes dark.
The first thing Victoria can feel before she even opens her eyes is the thumping headache at the back of her skull. Moaning slightly at the pain she opens her eyes to a brightly lit room. She blinks a few times trying to get her eyes accustomed to the change.
She is lying on the concrete floor of an almost empty room were it not for the cupboards in one corner and the wooden poles and beams holding up the ceiling. She sits up and leans against the wall behind her with her head down, trying to blink away her headache. It's doesn't work. Leaning her head back she finds she's stopped by something. Reaching up to her neck she feels a collar. She starts to freak out feeling for any opening but none appear.
Her mind focused Victoria stands up and begins to look for an exit, the door was the obvious solution but it was locked. No amount of tugging at the handle was going to get that to open.
Turning around to face the room again she realises there are no windows, no vents and no other escape. Victoria try's to think back to what happened before she woke up here. She remembers driving home but her path was blocked by some guy whose car had broken down. Leon! She hoped he was okay, she had just meet the dude but she still cared about his well being.
Then BAM grabbed from behind and nothing, just black nothingness till now.
Victoria had been pacing around the room and had ended up directly in the middle of it when she heard keys in the door. It opened to reveal, "Leon?"
"Hello pet."
