1 year later

It has been a year since Hana saw Suho. the only time they would see each other was through video call. but since Hana is busy with fashion school and Suho with his father, they barely had time with each other. of course it broke their heart thinking that their relationship could be on the edge of a break.

Hana was walking around the neighborhood with Jukyung. over the past year, the two girls had gotten closer than ever. Jukyung and Seojun just started dating even though it could be a risk for Seojun's idol career. but the two didn't care and Seojun would give up being an idol to continue dating Jukyung. Hana was happy for Jukyung and Seojun's relationship but sometimes she couldn't help but feel a bit jealous seeing them together. it just sometimes remind Hana how she and Suho were in their relationship.

Over the next few days, Hana had caught a fever so she had to skip school for a few days. Hana was curled up in bed leaving out a few coughs. the past few days, Hana and Suho haven't contacted each other yet because Suho was either busy or it was the different time zone. same thing with Hana, where she had to catch up with assignments for fashion school. what made Hana feel even worse than her fever was that Suho wasn't here to take care of her. whenever she would catch an illness, Suho would make her porridge and feed her medicine.

But now that Hana is alone in their shared apartment, she couldn't help but crave for Suho's cooking again. she kept looking at Suho's contact name, debating if she contact him or not. it's been almost a week and she was worried. they both felt like they weren't as close as before. the first few months after Suho left, they would call or text each other every few minutes but now, they would skip days or even weeks before contacting each other.

As Hana was still deep in deep thoughts, a phone call interrupted her and caught her attention right away. Hana's eye widen and her heart was pounding loudly in her chest. Suho was calling her and she couldn't help but question, "isn't it late at night right now for him?" Hana shook it off and picked up the phone call.

Hana softly said, "hey love, it's been awhile." while she silently laugh. Suho was in the waiting room of the hopsital where his father rested in. he was trembling and his fist was clenching, "hey, flower." Hana noticed his trembling voice and asked what's wrong. Suho explained that his father got internal bleeding and was rush to the ER. Hana tried to comfort him but her coughs would sometimes interrupt her words.

Suho felt his heart break into pieces knowing that his girlfriend is sick and he wasn't there right now. after their call ended, Hana looked up at the ceiling and couldn't help but ask out loud, "our relationship will be okay right?"

2 weeks later

Hana wasn't fully recovered but she still decided to go out. she attended her school to keep up with the other students. today was Hana's driving license test and she was nervous. not only did she feel a headache coming but that driving could be scary sometimes to her. after she had gone through the driving test, she had passed and gotten her driver license.

As Hana was on our way home, she had suddenly collapsed due to the high fever she was having. people around her immediately took notice and check if she was okay before calling the hospital.

Hana was admitted to the hospital where Seojun and Jukyung was contacted right away. as they were on their way to the hopsital, Hana was in bed resting. Hana decided to call Suho to tell him that she passed her driver license. when the 3rd ring stopped, Suho picked up. Hana happily said, "Suho guess what? i passed my driver license!" Suho replied softly, "i'm proud of you." until he continued with a sad tone, "flower, i need to tell you something." Hana furrowed her brows and replied a small okay. Suho took a deep breath and looked at the ceiling of the hospital waiting room.

What Suho had said next broke Hana's heart shattered into pieces. her breathing became rapid and her mind was blank. her eyes widened at the few words Suho had said.

"let's break up."

Hana was already tearing up, "w-what? but b-but why?" she asked in a whisper tone. Suho explained that he doesn't know when his father will recover and that it's for the best because he doesn't know when he will be coming back to korea. Hana shook her head and silently sobbed, "b-but! but i-i don't want t-to break up! re-remember the p-promise we made?"

At this time Suho was already tearing up while clenching the phone he was holding by his ear. his heart was also breaking into pieces after saying the words "let's break up" he could already feel a heavy pain in his chest.

Hana kept denying saying, "n-no let's not b-break u-up. i'll wait f-for you!" as tears were falling down on her cheeks. feeling sick and heartbroken wasn't a good combination for Hana's emotion right now. she couldn't help but hope this was all a nightmare. Suho explained that this was for the best and softly said, "i'm sorry flower." before hanging up.

After Suho hung up, Hana let her phone slid off her hand. Hana was frozen, she doesn't know what to do anymore. all that could be heard was the phone ringing after it was hung up. her eyes became dull, tears were still falling on her cheeks, her hands were trembling like leaves. after Hana finally let it sunk in her mind, she couldn't help but screamed out crying. the painful cry she was letting out was even worse than back at the airport that happened a year ago. Hana covered her mouth with her shaking hands and screamed. her heartbroken cries could make a stranger cry just by hearing it. Hana feels like her throat will break due to all the scream cry she was giving out.

Jukyung and Seojun came in seeing a broken Hana crying her heart out. they rushed to her immediately and comfort the broken girl.

When Suho hung up, he immediately cried his heart out. tears were continuously running down on his cheeks, his hair was a slight mess from all the stress that was happening to him, and his hand that was still holding onto his phone was shaking. he kept whispering out "i'm sorry" while letting tears fall out. he can feel the stinging pain in his heart like a knife continuously stabbing him. Suho covered his face with both hands while still crying in the hospital.

Suho and Hana's broken cries could break anyone's heart. they had broken their first promise with each other and it was to not let leave each other. but unfortunately, they had broken that promised and left, leaving broken hearts into shattered pieces. they were now a broken couple.
