exquisitely beautiful
once yui saw bakugo with shinso, she knew she was going to have a rough afternoon.
standing near him and getting flustered in a coffee shop is one thing, but this situation is different.
standing right next to each other while he barely has a shirt on with his hero suit with their arms brushing. 'at least i only have to go through this sweet torture while we pick partners.' yui thought thankfully.
they were currently off to the side of the sidewalk near the agencies in a small group trying to decide pairs. shinso and yui obviously wanted to go together, but todoroki wanted to stay with yui as he wasn't close with shinso and didn't like bakugo.
bakugo didn't like anyone and wanted to go alone.
"but ground zero", yui said, trying to convince bakugo like shinso was, "we have to go in pairs. all of our agencies said so. plus, wouldn't it be good to build bonds with other agencies?"
bakugo stared at yui as she felt herself getting a bit nervous for his answer. "yeah alright."
she perked up immediately as she thought she would get to go with her good friend shinso, until bakugo finished his full thought.
"misty and i will patrol together. puppet-master and shoto can patrol together too. partners there, are you happy?"
this was not what yui wanted. obviously.
her plan was to head off with shinso and maybe catch a criminal or two. and probably fanboy about seeing bakugo later at home.
she didn't see in her future that she'd have to spend at least 3 hours with him during her daily patrols.
"but yui-," todoroki went to protest before shinso pulled him off to start their rounds. as they walked away shinso turned around, shot yui a wink and mouthed good luck to her.
she furiously shook her head at him, embarrassed by her friend's antics and turned to bakugo. right as he began walking away from her without a word.
"hey ground zero wait up!" she called after him.
yui caught up with him and they started their patrol rounds. "so ground zero, are you going to stay with the agency when you're a pro or make your own agency? or maybe go solo?" yui asked, trying to make some small talk.
