Sans stayed home to keep an eye on Papyrus, desperate to make sure that his older brother's needs were met. His soul ached to think that he was going through something so awful that he thought Sans wouldn't even be able to help him.
He's wrong, of course. Sans thought firmly as he organized his action figures for about the fifth time that day. There's nothing the Magnificent Sans cannot help fix! Despite his thoughts, however, a lingering part of his mind was wondering if his efforts were enough. He needed to know if he had to try harder. He needed to know if his efforts to help his brother needed to be improved on and if they were helping him enough.
Sans had checked on Papyrus multiple times that day, only for the tall skeleton to dismissively tell him he was fine and didn't need any assistance. Although Sans had been doubtful each time, he knew his brother wanted to be alone. Perhaps that was the one time where Papyrus really needed rest for some reason. Then again, maybe he needed the opposite. Sans had heard from Undyne, Alphys's scientist crush, that exercise could sometimes help when monsters were feeling unwell...
The pain in Sans's skull from being hit by the bottle of honey was intense, although the short skeleton was determined not to let it get in his way of being productive.
I'll keep checking up on him...I'll even offer him tacos! I'll do all sorts of stuff until he feels better. I, the Magnificent Sans, will succeed in helping my brother get back to normal! Sans decided, clenching his blue-gloved hands into a pair of determined and excited fists. I'm going to train with Alphys again tomorrow though...hopefully Pappy will be okay while I'm gone!

The next morning, Sans immediately went to check on Papyrus. His brother was snoring softly, a cigarette hanging out of his gaping mouth. To Sans's relief, there were no signs that his brother had gotten any more spiked honey while he'd been asleep.
Pappy was probably sleeping anyway. That's all he did yesterday. Well, I guess that's not unusual. Sans rolled his eyes and left Papyrus's room so that he could get ready to train with Alphys.
As Sans was in his room getting himself completely ready for his training session, his phone buzzed. Immediately he eagerly snatched it up and saw that Alphys had texted him.
Alphys: U coming today Sans?
Me: Yup!!! I'll be there soon!!!
Sans put the phone down and a huge smile crossed his face. He was more than happy that he'd be going back to train with Alphys...although he was still worried about how his brother would fare while he was away.
Maybe I should get someone to look after him... He pushed the thought to the side, deciding that Papyrus would be fine. He'd probably just sleep the whole time Sans was away anyway...
Pain pierced the spot on Sans's skull where he'd been hit and he gritted his teeth, though he forced his smile to remain on his face. He was sure that the pain would go away soon and he refused to allow it to interfere with his daily tasks.
Sans ran downstairs and made himself some breakfast tacos, practically shoveling the meal down his mouth in a few swift bites. The short little skeleton hadn't eaten much, as he had been far too preoccupied with worrying about his brother and trying to keep himself busy. Sans wasn't the type of monster who had an easy time relaxing and eating a large meal during trying times. He was shocked that he'd even slept at all that night.
Once he was finished his meal, Sans left the house in a hurry, excited to get back to his routine once more. He had a hard time staying at home when he knew there was a chance he'd miss out on training or capturing a human!
