We sat there at the camp, every last one of us uneasy, we were left with half a squad. When night fell we went to sleep despite the constant gun fire. We all woke after some time to a... KAAA BOOOOOM. This planet shattering exposition shook us awake. As the ground was uneasy as the rest of us we hit the dirt when multiple bullets whizzed past us. We all dove in separate directions, mine, Beatrix and someone I didn't know dove for the weapons tent, where Sola and the other one dove away and for cover. We stood and grabbed our respective guns and tossed two radium carbines over to sola and the other, I think his name was Pliùtò. They both caught their weapons and opened fire. Then I realized it... the marines were gone and it was just us. I got into cover and just as I did we became under heavy fire, and we weren't gonna move to anywhere, that's when I saw the new guy that was with us had is thumb over his "kill switch" it was basically a button that sets off an incendiary explosive inside of you, for skitarii its inside the skull on their chest, and for tech-priests it's off to the side of their lungs. I turned to him and said "if you're ready to do that then you could make yourself useful and charge the enemy then when you're close to them or death then detonate. I know it's meant to destroy you in case of capture but it will work." he turned to me with this look of sorrow and nodded "I-I-I'm gonna flank them from the side." and with a nod from me he put his weapon down and ran to the side. As he did he curved and jumped. I didn't see the enemy but I did see the ensuing inferno and I heard the screams. So that denies my suspicions that we were fighting the marines at this camp because marines wouldn't burn from a fire that small. Out of all the times to be ambushed now is not the time. I stood with the confidence of a mouse trapped by five cats and supercharged but it missed and hit a tree. Just then over the trees not only came the sun but stormhawk interceptors blasting the enemy to pieces in no time flat. I stood and walked out, into the clearing and saw we were fighting not chaos, or space marines but assassins but not your normal assassins but hired guns. We were shocked to say the least, why would someone hire people to kill us some admech that were sleeping, unless they were after the inquisitor. That's when a Valkyrie landed next to use, not only holding Hellblasters but the inquisitor. "Sir where was it that you had gone and why did you leave use here?" Sola asked but this time he was not so formal and was really mad. With this the Hellblasters raised there weapons at him but didn't shoot and the inquisitor walked over to him "you use that tone of voice and expect not to be punished for it, I could have your head for something like that and no one would bat an eye." he said sternly and I hate to admit it but he was right. Right after that the Hellblasters lowered their weapons. "But if I killed you there would be a war or 'factorium malfunctions' or 'transport compilations' as you put it, so you get off with a warning." he said. "And to answer your questions, It was an experiment, that's it" he said without hesitation. We were left speechless in the middle of the camp. "You failed the experiment, it was a test to see how well you stood in battle because we knew the hired guns were coming, so we left you to deal with it but you can't handle yourselves well so we saved you." he said this with such disdain that I thought he would kill us right then and there. "Well anyway get on the valkyrie and it will transport you home" still as silent as before we got on the ship and we were off to go back home. As the ship took off we all looked to our left and saw the HUGE amounts of tech and how pleased the arch-magos would be. But we still had to report on what happened. "So uh who's gonna report to him" I asked looking around at the few of us, they all looked up, "I will" piped up one spider "and who are you" asked Beatrix as the highest rank on board. "I'm Mitchell MG-532" he responded. "Well if you want to then go for it because I don't think I couldn't even talk to him about that" Beatrix said, I'm not sure if he was joking or being serious.
