She ignored him
Let him go
She forgot he'd always been there
Forgot he'd always cared
Forgot that he'd needed her company, craved it
He was deteriorating from the inside out
Not the physical but the mental
It curled around his heart a destructive pathway to his brain
The promises she'd made
Those sickly sweet honeyed words which she'd displayed
It all drifted away never to be seen again
So he went alone days on end
Pretending he was fine
Smile forever etched on his face
Yet at the end of the light as the sun sank low
And he made it home
He opened the door and the mask fell off
Tears flowed as he shed the heavy armour with which he wore
Ready to sleep forever more
Before the darkness could sink in
His phone screen lit up an unanswered text coming in
He scrambled to reply
Salty tears wiped away
She wasn't ignoring him anymore
She drew him in once again, with her tantalizing scent
Only to forget about him when troubles drifted in
Yet he'd drop everything in a heartbeat to be with her again
For the love he held for her seemed to be far thicker than hers ever was
He was stuck
Wanting to move
But couldn't budge
Heart shrouded over and blurry
Love had him firmly in it's clutch
He was a slave to her touch
...
