She was always more sociable than I
Never took time for her to open up
Break from her shell
Never needed prodding nor prying
That was all me
A stubborn nut
Never wanting to crack or show too much
I moved at a snail's pace
All those close or ones coming closer
They decided they liked her better
Her speech, encouragement too
She was a radiant light shining brilliantly
Brightening the lives of all whom she touched
Yet I was a hole holding nothing but suffocating darkness
A gleaming flower next to a dull rose
Always said the wrong things and seemed to care too much

Drawn to it's alluring flicker
The warm tender caress
Her care was never suffocating nor the advice and love she gave
The words which fell from her lips like gentle swaying fall leaves
So they left and I had no-one left
Eventually she did too
I couldn't blame them not even her
For I'd leave myself if I could
This smothering being of a mind in search of the warm earth
