Ok so I know that I haven't updated in months so I'm updating now. You probably gave up on this book and I don't blame you but I'm updating anyway.
In my dream, I was surrounded, the undescribable creatures inching closer and closer, but never actually touching me. I tried to scream for help but I might as well have been underwater for all the good it did me. I couldn't tell what the creatures were because their faces and bodies kept morphing into something different. One of the screamed, "Make sure you cause her as much pain as she caused us!!!" "KILL HER" another screeched.
They came closer and closer until they were close enough to carry out their plan of execution when I jolted upright in my bed.
I breathed a sigh of relief at the fact that I was still alive.
My breathing started returning to normal as my dad called my name.
"Maria! Get ready for school and come down for breakfast!"
"Ok Dad!" I called back.
I walked over to my dresser and on the way, I passed by my picture of my mom and I when my mom, dad and I took a family trip to Denmark. I was really close to my mom. At the end of each week, we used to have talks about what was happening in our lives and give each other advice. She was one of those moms that was also your best friend. How many moms do you usually find like that? Yeah, exactly. Anyway, she died two years ago when I was 15, and I remember the day vividly.
_____FLASHBACK_____
We were in class taking a test when the phone rang. Our teacher-Mrs. Snow- answered it and told me to go to the office.
She looked pained when she said, "They have some news for you."
When I made it to the office, my dad, a police officer and my principle were standing near the door.
"Mrs. Snow said you have some news for me?" I asked looking straight at my dad.
"Yes, I'm afraid we do." the officer cleared his throat.
"Uh, Ms. Andra... your mother was murdered."
My head spun. No. No, that can't be right. Who would do that? She's the sweetest person on the planet! She was just here this morning she told me she'd see me this afternoon- she had to be alive!
"No." I mumbled. "No, no, NO, YOURE LYING TO ME!!" I yelled.
"Hey, sweetheart, it's alright." my dad tried to hug me but I resisted.
His red, puffy eyes looked into my glassy ones as he pulled back suddenly nervous.
"She's going to be waiting for me when I get home, just you watch JUST YOU WATCH!!!" I screamed as I broke down.
My father wrapped his arms around me as we both cried.
__END OF FLASHBACK__
I sighed, fighting back tears as I got dressed in a slow daze.
I walked down the stairs with a fake smile on my face so my dad won't ask me what's wrong.
Once I got to the bottom of the stairs and was about to turn into the kitchen, I heard someone who wasn't my dad whisper my name.
It wasn't clear but it was definantly a feeling.
I shook my head and once again blamed it on lack of sleep.
I walked into the kitchen to see a note on the table.
The handwriting was messy cursive-my dad's signature handwriting.
It read:
Dear Mar,
I left some breakfast for you in the fridge. I had to leave because I was running late for work. I know I can tust you to get yourself to school. I'll be home before you are so I guess I'll see you then.
Love you!
Dad
I folded the note and stuffed it in my pocket. I rummaged around in the fridge until I saw my breakfast. Cereal. So extravagant.... I sat down eating my bowl of cereal when I felt someone call my name again. But this time was different. It's was many voices. They were screaming at me now as I sat back in my chair, unable to finish my meal.A/N- Sorry if it was sucky but I just wanted to write this.
