caden irero gasped, sitting up and looked around confused when he found himself back in the infirmary rather than drowning in the lake from his attempt.
his 'friend,' will, turned from the sound and immediately started checking up on him.
caden couldn't speak for a while, before he coughed out some water and leaned his head on the son of apollo's shoulder.
"what? i-i was in the lake and—"
"what were you thinking!?" will snapped.
caden looked down, knowing what the taller boy was talking about.
he hadn't been in the right state of mind. he wasn't thinking at all.
he sat up properly and kept his head trained on the ground, knowing full well that will was waiting for an answer.
luke. luke castellan. luke castellan, his brother. why did he leave? how did he leave knowing that caden couldn't take it? how did he leave knowing he was a traitor?
"caden."
the two met eyes, the son of hermes' gaze wavering.
will's glare softened as he sighed and pulled the boy into his chest. "please, never do that again. you're gonna make me die from a heart attack."
caden nodded, quietly crying into the blond's shirt.
