" not gonna lie I hate how people are trying to gate keep kpop. like who cares if an idol is white? korea doesn't, and for those of you that like cpop and jpop, neither do they. you're all for idols that are half white or half black or half some non-east / south east asian ethnicity but as soon as it's someone that's fully white or fully black or even indian you're all upset even if koreans themselves aren't upset at all. not to mention you all try to ruin their careers by making up lies and telling fake stories to the point everyone believes them. however I love how diverse kpop, cpop, and jpop are becoming despite all this. just last year we had a black and two white idols debut in kpop groups, then we had a congolese-chinese trainee on produce camp 2020. this year there were 2 half nigerian girls on capteen as well as a half swedish girl. there's a half iranian on produce 101 s2 in japan as well as a half black and half mexican trainee along with a half filipino. chuang 2021 has three or four white guys on the show and there are many japanese trainees between chuang 2021 and youth with you 3. honestly we need to stop gate keeping, y'all are just making us look toxic to domestic fans of these genres and it's not cute. " - @-mugendaiI'm all here for diversity in kpop. We've seen a lot of white people come and go in kpop and there has even been kpop groups with just all white people in them. So I cant really say that seeing white people in kpop is like uncommon or whatever. However, I'm super excited to have people with darker skin tones in kpop
