He's Growing

the next day, Davis got a call from Nelson, it wasn't good news. Davis arrives at the zoo to see nelson waiting for him. " I got your message about George. he okay?" he asked as he walked alongside nelson, "I don't know." nelson said. " what do you mean, you don't know?" Davis asked in anger as he kept walking inside the zoo, nelson stops in his track as he called out to Davis, " Davis. Davis!". Davis stopped in his tracks and turned to his friend, " he's in the grizzly enclosure". 

Davis made it to the grizzly enclosure with Nelson behind him with a tranquilizer gun in his hand for safety. as they walked in they saw a grizzly bear dead on a rock, its neck snapped in two, they then hear growling coming from the bear's cave, they both turned to see George cowering in fear in the cave. 

nelson pointed the gun at him but Davis held out his hand, signaling him to lower his weapon. "put it down." Davis said. " what?" nelson asked in confusion, " you know how he is around guns. put it down" nelson slowly lowers the gun, " are you sure?" he asked as Davis nodded his head but still kept his eyes on George " put it down. I'm gonna go talk to him". Davis slowly started making his way towards George as he tries not to spook him. 

" Hey, George?" Davis said, George faced Davis and growled at him making Davis stop in his track as he signs " it's okay. it's me". this made George calm down a little " what happened?" Davis signs out to George. George signs sad as he shakes in fear, " it's okay. did you hurt him?" Davis asked. George signs sorry, " sorry?" Davis asked as he looked at George's scar on his chest, " did he hurt you? he made you scared," Davis asked, but George started to get more scared and started to come out of the cave. but once he was out, Davis and nelson saw that he was bigger than before. 

Davis and Nelson took a step back as George stood on his leg, " it's okay to be scared. it's okay. calm" Davis signs as George calmed down and walked back into the cave. Davis took some step back in disbelief as nelson asked, " is it me or is he considerably bigger?" Davis nodded his head and said, " no, he's definitely bigger". then the radio went off, " it's Connor. guys, you need to get over to the gorilla enclosure."

they made it to the gorilla enclosure to see a bunch of trees that was crashed to the ground and burnt. they followed the path of burnt trees to see the other crew members around something that was lying on the ground. " what the hell happened?" Davis asked, Connor, turned to face Davis and said " we were doing our morning rounds when we saw burnt foliage and found this". Connor pointed to a box on the ground surrounded by dirt. 

" all right, let me see the kit," Davis said as Connor got his backpack and took out a plastic bag before handing it to Davis. Davis open the bag and put his hand inside it, using it like a glove as he picked up the box and looked at it in confusion, " what is it?" Amy asked, Davis, shakes his head and said "I don't know. but we gotta figure it out". 

meanwhile in Chicago in a tall building was a man who was in his office smashing a model of a spacecraft in anger, " stupid piece of crap!" he yelled out. then a woman in a black office dress walked in and asked " are you done?" the man stopped and throws the bat to the ground before turning to his sister, " we just lost billions of dollars, claire". " ten of billion, actually. plus $ 20,000 for the models you just destroyed." she said as she walked towards her brother's desk and placed her handbag on the desk. " our stock got hammered this morning. down 20%". 

" and you aren't upset, because..." brett asked, " because project rampage works. do you know how much that's worth?" claire said. brett thinks for a moment " zero. because all of our research was on that space station" he said as he pointed at the screen where a picture of the spacecraft was on. claire picks up a remote and said " actually, Atkins got the research samples onto the escape pod." she switched the screen to a camera recording the escape pod where the experiments were last, " yes, the escape pod blew up. but the canisters were engineered to withstand reentry. and the American meteor society just reported a meteor strike in southern Wyoming. all we have to do is go get it back" 

claire gets her bag and began to walk away, " well, let's get out there. somebody finds that sample, it leads straight back to us. I mean what if (Y/N) find those samples and tell the FBI on us and also tells us about what we did to her" brett asked.  Claire rolled her eyes and said " please, enough with the overreacting. " "I am not overreacting, claire. there's a reason we were doing these experiments in space and it wasn't exactly for the betterment of humanity. plus after what we did to (Y/N), we could end up in prison, do you know who (Y/N)'s husband is? he could have our heads" brett said in as panic before claire came up to him and straightened his tie as she said, " look, you handle the press. and I'll get birke to take care of the canister." " who is burke?" brett asked in confusion as he raised an eyebrow, " remember that private military firm we acquired last year? you call them " killers 'R' us," she asked. Brett nodded his head " yeah?"  " well, he's the "us" 

in Greeley, colorado, a soldier got out of a van and walked towards a military helicopter with his men as he placed his headset on his head, " where to, burke?" one of his men asked. " Wyoming" burke replied, " ah, never been". " lots of mountains, not a lot of people. animals love it. you'll fit right in." the soldiers laugh a little as burke signals the pilot to started the copper, the copper started and took off making its way to Wyoming. 

meanwhile in Los Angeles, (Y/N) was asleep in her bed as the sun shined through her window. she wakes up as the sun blinds her eyes for a moment before she sat up slowly. she then slowly stood up before she placed her hand on her pregnant belly. she began to walk into the kitchen as she called out for her husband " Russell? Russell are you here?" she asked. she then saw a note on the counter to see her husband had gone to work. she smiled before she gets a glass from the cupboard and filled it with water as she turned on the tv news. 

she took a sip of water when she hears a voice on the news that she wished she never heard again. she turned around and turned up the volume as brett was talking to the press, " my sister and I and everyone at energyne are stunned and deeply saddened by the loss of the Athena-1 crew. these were brave and brilliant men and women of science who were committed to helping mankind and we will continue that work in their honor. that's enough. thank you."  (Y/N) watched as brett walks away as her anger was getting to her, " helping mankind, my ass," she said as she slammed her glass on the counter before she sat down on the sofa and watched the news, " since then, wall street has kept a close eye on energyne's performance." 

(Y/N) started switching the news for reports of anything linked to brett and claire. she then saw news reports about the meteors and watched the news about it, " what you're looking at is dramatic video of a fireball touching down near the san Diego wildlife sanctuary. " (Y/N) held her breath when she hears this " it is thought to be debris from last night's Athena-1 tragedy. however, it's unclear if this is related to one of the park's gorillas escaping the enclosure at the sanctuary earlier this morning. the gorilla's name is George..." as soon as she hears George's name and saw a picture of him on the news she was now pissed. " Davis, you piss of shit!" she yelled out as she stood up and got her phone. she dialed a number and waits for an answer, the person on the other line picks up, " Hey, it's (Y/N) can you get my husband please?" she turned to look at the tv as she had the phone to her ear, " there is currently no explanation for the primate's behavior and zoo officials are not commenting at this time." (Y/N) then hears the person she was wanting to talk to get on the phone," Hey I need you to do something for me, please." she then get's her coat and put it on as she used her shoulder to hold the phone to her ear before getting her house keys and walking out of the door, " yeah. it's at san Diego wildlife sanctuary. I need you to send a chopper and bring in my brother Davis and don't hurt George, who knows what had happened to him" but as she was about to open the door she stopped in her tracks and placed her hand on her baby bump, " yeah, the baby is okay. but I need to know what happened to my friend. he's special honey and I can't let energyne get their hands on him and who knows how many animals his affect by their project and we need to stop it" she said as she opens the door and slammed it shut making a picture of her and Davis with a baby George in (Y/N) hands fall off the wall.
