Have you ever seen sunset?
Not the boring answer of a beautiful sunset
The kind captured in the brilliant evening
The kind where a paint colors the clear sky
A glow in the midst of the sky slowly descending into the horizonBeginning with a clear light blue encompassing the entire canvas
Then
Slight yellow hues appear among the blue paint
Gradually the blue towards the bottom only grows lighter and lighter
And lighterAnd suddenly the entire horizon is a mix of soft yellow and oranges
Of you happen to chance upon it a streak a red might find itself here and there
If the sky isn't clear
Do you see the clouds
Cotton candy waved through the skies
Pink and blue and light purple
Can you taste the sugarHave you looked above the sun's vibrant palette?
Where now a medium of blue takes the back round
Time ticks on and the shades grow darker
From a twilight blue to a night violet
This violent suddenly combined with a serene grey
A grey that seems to say
Wind down
The day is about to endAbove that grey
Midnight black
Twinkle says the star
Hello says the moon
