CALYPSO

Calypso felt the wind whistle through her hair as she and Leo flew through the cloudless night.

The air was getting increasingly colder as they flew north, and a light snow had started to fall.

Leo glanced back at Calypso, and grinned. "We'll be setting down in a minute sunshine, Festus said there is a machine shop right ahead so we can make more permanent repairs."

Calypso smiled back through her chattering teeth, and replied "Ok, but as soon as we set down you need to tell me WHY we are going to Quebec and what's with the rush!"

Leo's smile vanished, and he said, "Yeah, I'll explain."

Calypso was worried about him. Even though he claimed to be fine, she could tell his head still hurt, and she wanted to know why they were going to Quebec before they went to his home, Camp Half-Blood. Also, something he said when he landed on Ogygia bothered him. He had said he had died, yet here he was, very much alive.

Festus creaked and whired as he began to descend. As they neared the ground, Calypso could see a big factory, and there were lights on. Festus landed outside, and again his leg buckled and threw Calypso and Leo off.

Calypso landed with a thud in the snow, and immediately brushed the cold powder off.

She looked for Leo, only to see him stuck face first in a huge snow drift, and he was furiously struggling to get out.

Calypso snorted, but before she could go over and help him out, he started to glow with heat and all the snow melted.

He sat up with a smirk, and said, "Ha! That's what happens to snow in Texas,"

He looked around, as if expecting people to laugh, but then seemed to remember that only Calypso was there.

He quickly stood up and brushed himself off and muttered to Calypso, "Sorry, long story."

He turned and held open the door of the garage open for Calypso. "After you."

Calypso entered the shop, and saw a figure slumped over the front desk.

She walked over, with Leo right behind her. She stopped at the desk, and realized the figure was a teenager, and he was leaning over the counter, fast asleep.

She glanced at Leo, who had a devilish grin on his face.

She instantly felt sorry for the sleeping boy, even more so when Leo pulled an air horn from his tool belt.

He motioned for Calypso to cover her ears, and, after putting ear plugs in his own ears, blew the horn.

As the deafening horn rang through the building, the teen flew up, with a wild look in his eyes.

He flailed his arms, and, loosing his balance, his stool tipped backwards. He landed with an audible thud, and Calypso winced.

She glared at Leo, and asked, "Was that really necessary?"

Leo gave her a cheeky grin, and said, "Of course it wasn't. Let's check if he's alive."

He walked around the counter. Calypso, grumbling to herself, followed.

She found Leo helping up the unfortunate boy, and up close, Calypso guessed he was about 18 or 19.

He was rubbing his ear, glaring resentfully at Leo who was giving him a smile.

The boy glared some more, expecting Leo to back down and apologize, but Leo kept giving him the cheeky grin he was famous for.

When it became clear Leo was unrepentant, the boy sighed and said, "Welcome to the self serve garage. Everything machine related is to your right. You can pay when you're finished."
