Up close, his toned body glistened with sweat. His chest heaved up and down as he breathed heavily. Blood was dripping down his nose, leaking into his mouth. His white teeth were coated with the dark red consistency.

Celeste Warren
The sunlight that was shining in through the curtains had woken me up. It was extremely bright today. The first thing I did was rub my eyes with the back of my hands, letting out a whine. I did not want to wake up...
I turned, rolling over and reaching for my phone. I took it off the charger and checked the time. 12:29 pm. Fuck. I slept in longer than I usually do, which sucks. I hated my sleep schedule changing, it ruined certain things.
I scrolled through my phone for a few moments, nothing much happening.
After around ten minutes, I finally built up the courage to get out of bed. I went to the kitchen, seeing Jocelyn happily walking around the kitchen. "What's got you so happy?" I grumbled. I usually was a morning person, just not.. this morning. "Too early for this."
"It's twelve-thirty, Celeste," Jocelyn pointed out. "I've been talking to Niall all morning. He's so sweet!" she gushed. It was weird seeing her like this. For one, she was definitely not a morning person. When she didn't have work on the weekends, she would sleep until like three o'clock if she could. "Want pancakes?" I nodded. For two, she never gushed or talked about guys that much. She was more of a... casual, not-so-casual relationship type of girl.
Casual fucking, exactly. Not relationships or liking anybody.
"Sure," I answered. "Didn't think you remembered being with Niall last night. You were completely shitfaced. How long have you been up?" I sat down on a stool in the kitchen, unlocking my phone and scrolling through Instagram.
"Been up since nine, I think. I don't even feel hungover!" she exclaimed, gathering the ingredients for pancakes. "I remember pretty much everything."
"Okay," I locked my phone and set it in front of me on the table. "Do you think The Rupture will be at Eternal tonight?" I asked her.
"The Rupture? Why?" her eyes widened. "You like him!"
"No, I don't.." I shot down immediately. "I met him last night. Kind of a prick. I'm just wondering." I needed to start my assignment. I barely had any information from last night, so I needed to get more if it was possible.
Jocelyn shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know. I mean, you could always go, but I might hang out with Niall, so I can't go with you."
"That's fine," I replied. "Just need to find him." I decided against telling Jocelyn that I was doing the assignment on The Rupture—or attempting to, at least. I just don't want it to get in the way, and just in case, if it did work, I don't want him to find out I'm doing a project. With Jocelyn knowing, it puts that even more at risk.
"Why?" she asked. I glared at her. "Fine! It doesn't matter."
