Back at Hogwarts, an emergency meeting was held for the Weasley Cousins, in the Gryffindor common room.
"What's up, cuz's?" Rox asked.
"We have a situation." James whispered.
"What is it?" I asked conspiratorially.
"It's my dad's Marauder's Map. It's missing." James said.
We've been hearing about the Marauder's Map all our lives. "Did your dad lose it?" I asked.
"No." James said, "I did."
"What?" Rox and I said together.
"Give us the details." Cousin Rose suggested.
Me, Rox, Rose and Albus listened intently as James told his story. We thought it best not to include the older cousins, Victorie and Sam or the younger ones, Alex and Hugo.
James explained that he'd found the map in his dad's desk at home, and thought he'd just 'borrow' it for a little while.
"So when was the last time you saw it?" Rox asked.
"Before Christmas." James answered. "I had it hidden in my trunk. I went to look at it this morning, and it was gone."
"Then that narrows the suspects." I said.
"What do you mean?" Asked Albus.
"It had to be a Gryffindor." explained Rox. "Who else would have access?"
The cousins all looked at each other, thinking she was probably right.
"We'll take the case!" I announced, looking at Rox for confirmation.
"Consider us on it." she decreed.
"We'll interview the suspects."
"We'll find the map."
"You can count on us."
"The Axe and Rox Detective Agency at your service."
"Don't worry, we'll be discrete."
The first person we interviewed was James. We needed to know who all had access to his truck, who knew the map was there, and who did he think took it.
Then we interviewed Albus. Our number one suspect - jealous brother, wanting the map for himself.
We interviewed all the boys in James' dorm room, all the members of the Gryffindor Quidditch team, and everyone else we could think of.
