Techno shut his door behind him, leaning against it. He pushed off for a moment to shed his coat, tossing it onto his bed. One side of his half unbuttoned(from the bottom) dress shirt was loosely tucked, the other completely untucked. His hair was in a fishtail braid that Wilbur had done an hour or two before. He ran a hand down his face, tired of everything being so loud. He felt like there was always some sort of chatter in his brain, although it wasn't clear enough to be defined as voices. It was more like background noise, aside from the one loud voice. That one was constantly chiming, usually with bad ideas.

Come on, you know you want to.

Techno groaned, not wanting to have this argument again. The voice in his head had been trying to convince him to-

No one likes Schlatt anyways. What harm will it do to overthrow the government for a second time?

That. The voice in his head had been trying to get him to go with Dream and start a revolution.

Because I don't want to ruin everything I have.

What do you have? A boring life where nothing ever happens?

No, I have a happy family. I have a life in which I am content.

You should really stop lying. Even before I made myself known, you were restless.

Of course you were here before. Anything else I should know?

There are quite a few things you'll find out in time. For now, all you need to know is that I am here, and I am stronger than you think. The more you try to ignore me, to go against what I say, the more power I will have over you.

You're just a voice. You don't have any power over me?

Really? Then why do you listen to me?

I don't.

Aren't you standing here, as I said? Didn't you leave your brothers so quickly because I said it would be better to be alone?

Techno didn't feel like replying, instead laying down on his bed. The voice continued to pester him, telling him he should join Dream, telling him how much power it had, and reminding him how it knew how bored Techno was. He tugged at the braid in his hair, letting his hair fall loose across his pillow.

"Techno?" Wil asked, poking his head into his twin's room, "Are you okay? You left dinner pretty fast."

Depends on what be means by okay.

"I-" Techno paused, waving a hand by his ear as if to shoo the voice away, "I don't know anymore."

Oh, you're fine. You just want to start a revolution, a war. You just want to see the bodies of the people who hurt him, lying in scattered pieces.

Techno's eyes widened. That was much more violent than normal, and it felt deeper than normal as well. Like it was calling out to him, burying the thought and image deep within his mind, rather than just trying to convince him. He tried not to let his surprise(and worry) show on his face, but Wil could always tell when something was off.

"What's wrong?" Wilbur sat behind Techno, separating his hair into three parts to braid it.

Are you going to tell him about me? You'll sound crazy.
