Abike was in her children's room, her hands sweaty and her heartbeat racing. She squeezed the crucifix in her fingers, as her lips moved, while she spoke in tongues. The frightening presence of those creatures allowed her to tolerate the horrible stench that emanated from Folashade.

After those creatures came for her, she dashed into the first room she could enter, and it was unfortunately, the room where Folashade was kept. Her thumb was constantly rubbing her nose, as she tried to smell the perfume she had sprayed on it–she had to block out the suffocating smell that aroused from folashade.

When she got into the room, she locked it, and sprayed Folashade's perfume on her thumb. She knew that she'd be here for a while, and indeed she was, because it was almost three hours since they came. She thought about calling for help, but she didn't want to put an innocent person's life at stake.

Her gaze averted to the space underneath the front door, she could see a tail shifting its way inside and her heartbeat raced even more as drops of sweat began filling her forehead. But the tail touched the anointing oil she had poured, and she could hear the creature screech before retreating its tail.

She let out an exasperated sigh of relief, as her muscles tensed, but her grip still remained firm on the crucifix. She had finally found a way, and the happiness that filled her heart was incomprehensible. It was in that notebook for so long, and yet, no one seemed to know. She was certain that the Olori Alufa wouldn't know about this, maybe because Orisa Ife terminated all those that found out, just like she was doing now.

Although, what she found in the Notebook was more of an hypothesis, but she believed in her heart that it would work. All she needed to do was to pass the message across to Inioluwa, but her phone was in the living room.

If she had known, she thought, she would have taken the phone along with her.

She had to get that phone, but there was no way that she'd open that door and those things wouldn't kill her or put her in deep sleep. Her mind raced through ideas, as she thought of a possible solution.

Her forehead creased as a thought popped up in her head. Is Folashade's phone here? She questioned herself, before hastily getting up. It was as though the creatures could sense that she was standing, as they began banging and scratching and screaming at the door.

She paid no attention to them, as she looked around the room. Where would Folashade keep her phone? Was the next question that went through Abike's mind. Her finger nails came in contact with her teeth for a while, before she decided to check the dressing table drawer.

She pulled open the first one, and searched through the small packs of jewelry and found nothing. She opened the second one, and only found two novels. The third one was completely empty and Abike knew that Folashade didn't keep her phone there. But why would she? She knew that her mother would go through her phone, if she found it, so keeping it in the drawer would be almost foolish.

She put on her thinking cap again, as her mind raced through options. Her hands were clasped together and her eyes shut as she prayed for a leading. She needed to get a phone, and her heart told her that Folashade's phone was in this room.

"Her." She heard, and her eyes snapped out before she thanked Him numerous times. The hard part was getting the phone from Folashade, if it was actually with her. Folashade still wore sweatpants and a saggy shirt, the same one that she wore when Orisa Ife called her. Abike was unable to find herself changing her, it would be like she was changing a dead person. And yes, she wasn't a perfect mother.

Using her index and first finger to pinch her nostrils close, she walked gingerly towards Folashade. The mucus filled lumps already irritating her, bile filled her throat and she just wanted to throw up everything she had for breakfast. She swallowed, as she sat on the bed, near Folashade. She tucked her hand into the pocket of the sweatpants, while still feeling like throwing up. She found nothing in first one, and checked the other, she still found nothing.
