Chapter 7 Fail

Everyone had gone to sleep back up in the cave. So now I could try to see myself without anyone noticing. I reached up grabbed my hood and began to pull it down. I yelped as a wave of pain shot down my arm. I pulled out a sword and tried to cut my hood off. however, my hood wouldn't cut. I walked away from the river edge and up to a tree where I sat watching the world around me. All I could see was the beauty of it. I would never be able to see the beauty within myself if I can't see myself. The words rang in my head to a point where I closed my eyes and fell asleep. 

I glanced around making sure no one else was awake before I followed Void outside. I found him sitting near the river messing with his hood. He let out a random yelp at one point which was weird for him to do. After about ten minutes he had passed out leaning up against a tree. I walked over and sat next to him petting his head until I was asleep as well. 

I shot up from bed yelling "MORNING!" everyone else shot up in surprise. "Why did you do that Gal?" Alex said while rubbing her eyes. "Because it's morning! And well we need to eat and... " My voice trailed as I realized Void and Proxy weren't here. "You good Gal?" Entity asked. "Yeah, I'm fine. But where is Void Steve and Proxy?" Everyone else looked around as if they hadn't noticed they were missing. "Huh, that's weird..." Sabre said as he looked around. "Entity and Nightmare Steve will you go find them while Gal and I cook us breakfast?" The two nodded and ran off. I followed Sabre to our campfire and we started making some eggs for everyone. "So now that we are done with evil," Rainbow steve began. "Where are we gonna stay?" Sabre, Alex and I thought. "What if we all set up houses near that lake we passed on the way here?" Alex put out. "Oh, I like that idea! I can fish, and I can do more fishing, an-" Sabre cut me off. "And we understand." We all laughed. "HEY GUYS! GUESS WHAT?!" Nightmare yelled as he flew back. "What?" I asked. "Well, we found them!" Nightmare began before he was cut off by Entity. "They were sleeping together near the river!" Rainbow Steve stumbled at the words. "No way!" Sabre yelled as he fell over laughing. "What?!" Alex said shocked. Entity and Nightmare walked over grabbing their plates. They sat down and explained what they had seen.

I woke to the feeling of someone shifting next to me. I opened my eyes slowly afraid of what I might see. I nearly jumped as I realized Proxy had fallen asleep on my shoulder. I was still in front of the tree where I had been last night. Had Proxy seen what I was doing? "Morning Void." I must have zoned out because I don't remember her waking up. "Hey, Proxy. Umm why are you out here?" she did not respond for a second so I assume she forgot. "Well I saw you leave, and that's all I really remember..." I nodded and we walked back to camp. "Hey love birds!" Nightmare called in our direction. I was confused until I realized we were holding hands. I quickly let go feeling my face turn red. Good thing I have a hood. 

It had been a while since I had seen Void this happy. The last time was when he met me and Nightmare. I glanced over at Rainbow who was looking at Sabre. He looked at me and looked down blushing. Are Sabre and him a thing? I looked back over at Void and saw he was lost in thought again. I sighed and walked back into the cave hoping to get some sleep. I woke to someone shaking me violently. "Huh? who? what?" I sat up and the person stopped. It was Proxy. "Have you seen Void!?" She asked in a worried tone. "No? Why? Is he ok?!" She was shaking with fear. "No! last I saw of him he was bleeding from somewhere under his cloak but he refused to let me help to say that he would go and do it." Why would Void do that? "Where did he go?! We NEED to find him!" I said. everyone else was eating dinner at the fire so it was easy to sneak away. We raced into the woods running to the river where she had found him last night. "LOOK!" Proxy yelled as she found a small pool of blood with drips heading off to the East. We ran following them hoping we would find him soon. Even though he could die as many times as he wanted to it still hurt, and many of his injuries carry into the next life if not dealt with. As we continued running along the blood trail we started to hear coughing up ahead. Our pace quickened the closer we got. the forest opened into a clearing and lying in the centre was Void coughing up blood adding to the pool of it that was around him.
