My alarm beeped, I jumped out of bed. Another day of school. Yay. If I'm being honest, my experience at school wouldn't be so bad if everyone left me alone but being best friends with the hottest and most popular guy at the school is more difficult than you think.
Just because we're best friends that doesn't mean I'm popular. I mean, I am. But people know me as "Samson's best friend", "Sam's bestie" or "is that Sam's girl, ew." Instead of
"Eden Williams",
"Eden Rose Williams"
or "the girl who's kind to everyone even though she lowkey gets bullied by her best friends friends" that one's my personal favourite, to be honest or "Is that Sam's girl."
Lost in my thoughts about how I'm so loved at school, my phone beeped. Speak of the hottie.
"Samson sent you a message!"
My stomach bubbled up and butterflies erupted, just like every time he texts me, or even speak to me, or whenever I see his gorgeous face. I opened the message.
"Morning babyyy, be ready in 10, I'm on my way ;)"
I hate it so much when he calls me "baby", it makes me feel like it's so real. When it's really not. At least I'm the only one he calls "baby" unless he's lying to me. I replied to him.
"Okay, I'm nearly doneee"
I smiled as I went into my bathroom to wash my face.
After washing my face, I took my hairbrush and brushed through my relatively straight black hair. Hair brushed, now it was time to loosely curl it. Samson always told me my hair looks better loosely curled, so I've done it like that since I can remember.
I wore a white crop top with a purple cardigan over it, high waisted ripped jeans and some high tops because I'm literally so short it's impossible to see me. I put pink tinted lip balm on, a bit of blush, curled my eyelashes and brow gel on my eyebrows, threw on my glasses, and I was ready to go.
I took one last look in my mirror, smiled at myself and the next thing I knew, I was standing outside my front door. Samson pulled up within seconds. He got out his car and I was already blown away. His dirty blond hair was flowing in the breeze, his charming and crisp smile, his glowing white teeth and his deep ocean eyes. It was too much to handle as soon as I woke up. Suddenly I felt all hot and squishy inside, I could feel my cheeks head up immensely as he walked closer to me, still smiling.
"Morning Eden, I think you put too much blush on today, stupid." He chuckled as he flicked my nose and then brought me into a warm hug. I giggled knowing It wasn't the blush that was making my face all red. I wrapped my arms around him, and for some reason, we started swaying. Its been over 16 years we've been in each other's lives and it feels like day 1 every time.
Our moment was soon interrupted.
"Morning Sammy! Looking sharp today," My mother said, leaving against our front door frame with a freshly made coffee in her hand "You better get going before you're late, love you Eden, you too Samson." She smiled so hard her eyes disappeared.
"Good morning to you too, Mrs Williams," Samson replied still holding onto me tightly.
"Love you too mum." I smiled and she shut the door seconds after.
"Let's go?" Samson questioned, looking down at my face, still hugging.
I gave him a shy nod, he pulled out of the hug but kept my hand in his. We got to his car, he opened the door for me, and I got in, then he jogged round to his side, got in and started driving. I turned on the Bluetooth on his car, connected my phone to it, then put our playlist on and blasted our favourite songs on it as he drove to our school.
