I ran through the forest, the wind whipping in my hair, and a smile wide on my face. I giggled as I looked over my shoulder. Winter, my wolf freind, was chasing me. She yipped playfully. I laughed as I turned back around.

I turned and stopped in my tracks. A wendigo had cornered some kind of feathered, serpent person. I cocked my head, and behind me, Winter did the same.

The I leaped into action. I grabbed my swords on my back and pulled them out. I killed the wendigos with one movement. They all fell down. I fell to the ground softly. I put my swords back in there sheaths then looked at the 'man'. He had a long serpent tail covered in feathers, and a beak like nose. Winter growled, and I put my hand in the air. She stopped at once. "Who are you?" I asked, tilting my head to one side. The creature didn't answer. I glared. "Answer me," I demanded.

The man stepped forward. "I don't have to tell you anything" he scoffed, " your just a weak humani gir-" he stopped, fear swimming in his eyes. I turned around quickly.

Behind me was a soul sucker. It stood over Winters lifeless body. Anger controlled me. Tears came into my eyes. The soul sucker turned to the man. Its eyes hungry. I took out my swords once again and dance behind it, its heads snapping at me. I swung my sword out and caught 3 of the heads in one motion. I dodged again. Dancing around it. I took deep breathes and closed my eyes. I made a series of cuts along the creatures body. I finally got it to lay down from the pain. I opened my eyes and cut of the rest of its head. I turned to the man. "Who are you" I growled, my swords twirling in my hand.

The man stood up straight. "I am Quetzalcoatl," he told me, "an elder. I a-" he started.

"An eld- what?" I asked confused. The man shook his head.

"An elder. And I thank you for... killing the wendigos" he said. I sighed.

"No problem" I muttered. I turned back to winter. Slowly, I walked over to her. My heart hurt. I had known her since I was 11. I crouched down beside her. I could barley see, my vision blurry from tears. I wiped my eyes and stood up. Taking a deep breathe I put my swords away and turned to the man. I swept past him and walked through the forest.

Soon I got to my hut I had made myself. I slammed the door and sat on my bed made of straw, wood, wool, and leaves. I wiped my tears and put my knees to my chest. I rested my chin on them. My heart hammering, and my blood pulsing. Anger and sadness swirled in my heart. Pain engulfed my entire body. I lifted my head up and howled. Then I got up and ran out the door. I ran to the lake and dived in. Swimming quickly, I went to the underwater cave. I jumped onto the surface and walked dover to my weapons. I grabbed my dagger and put it in its sweat. I put the sheath around my waist and sighed. I then made the promise to myself that i would never forget, I would kill any soul sucker i see.
