"Low and behold, Alexis Miller in all of his glory!"
His friends whooped around him trying to imitate the sound of thousands of people screaming. Oliver was laying on the green fat boy, beer bottle in hand acting as if it was a mic. All of the others were spread out on the couch or even on the floor.
Alexis exhaled the breath he was holding and did the handstand. He lasted three seconds before he went crashing down, almost crushing one of the twins at the same time. He fell down with a thud followed by the laughter of the people present.
"Low and behold, Alexis Miller has eaten the dust!"
Lara high-fived Jesse across the table and Oliver helped Alexis get back up.
"Haha, very funny."
His friend doubled in laughter and he couldn't stop the rise of his lips, eventually breaking out into a grin himself. He sat down cross legged next to Oliver, thigh pressing against the other's socked feet. It was a Saturday evening, well spent in Alice's basement. They had sort of made the place their number one hangout spot: they had hanged light bulbs like you would see in restaurants, the neon green fat boy laid next to a worn out gray couch, two purple chairs were placed across the table as well as a red love seat that the twins shared.
When Alice's mom had seen the place, she had gone on about colour coordination, which frankly nobody remembered. She ended up giving up when the next thing that entered the room was an orange blanket. Alice was currently sitting on the worn out gray couch and the orange blanket, legs pulled against her chest with her chin resting on her knees. She was holding a can of ginger ale that moved around every time she spoke. Alexis was truly confused about how the content of it didn't spill with all of her hands mouvement.
"That's what I'm telling you! If only's the math teachers would be nicer, I wouldn't have no problems at school."
Lara's accent came thick as she argued with Eve, some Russian leaving her lips in incoherent grumbles. Eve was sitting next to her, her dreadlocks pulled into a small bun above her head.
"You would have no problems at school. If you make double negations, it becomes positive."
"Da, da! You gets it!"
Nobody was sure what they were arguing about exactly but as long as they didn't get dragged into it, it would be fine. Oliver shifted next to him, so that instead of his feet, his mop of red hair was pressing against Alexis' thigh. He tugged on the hair behind Alexis' neck to get his attention.
"Did you finish your english essay?"
Alexis swatted his hand away, brushing his hands on the back of his neck hoping the strands would lay flat again.
"Yeah, it was a true pain in the ass though. Argumentative essays should be banned."
Oliver laughed, scrunching up his nose. He nodded clearly agreeing with Alexis on that one.
"Hm, yeah. They're a true pain in the ass."
Oliver took another sip of his beer before putting it down beside the fat boy.
"You know what, we should play a game."
"Which game?"
"Who's most likely?"
Julian turned his head towards them and leaned his whole body across the armchair of the loveseat.
"I'm in."
Jesse stopped talking to Alice paying attention to what was happening.
"What are we doing?"
"Playing who's most likely."
