Thea PoV

I lay down on the bed in the Infirmary thinking about all that had happened today. First i had gotten some weird dream from a goddess telling me that i had powers that i would slowly start to use and that she was my mother, and then she had told me to find two guys in New York, Named Nico Di Angelo and Will Solace, and then she told me about how they needed me to go on a quest to save a titan.

After i had woken from that dream i had packed my bags and left my foster home, thankfully they always leave the doors unlocked, i had gotten on a bus and used my magic to get enough money to go all the way from Maine to New York.

The bus had gotten a flat tire in Virginia and when i got off the bus there were these weird ladies with snake tails for legs and feet, after i changed my appearance to look like an elderly woman i had seen on the bus they ignored me and i left and went to go get on a new bus.

But that was when the birds found me, they were huge with razor sharp beaks and talons.

I managed to get on the bus with the birds still following me.

By the time i had gotten to long island and gotten a taxi to the address my mother had given me the birds were closing in on me.

One of them had struck me and slashed my side just before i had made it past the dragon (dragons were the least weird thing i had seen all day) after that i had just collapsed and all i remember after that was meeting Nico and Will and answering questions.

I woke up the next morning -from a (thankfully) dream less sleep- to see Will leaning over me tending my wound.

"Oh! You're awake!" He said cheerfully

"Uhhuh" i said rubbing my eyes "what time is it?"

"6:30" he said

"AM or PM?"

"AM"

"Ugh"

"Breakfast is gonna start soon"

"How do you guys get up this early for breakfast?"

"I dunno" he said with a shrug "I guess we're just used to it. Alright! You've got fresh bandages! Also can i ask how this happened?"

"These weird birds attacked me, they had razor sharp talons and beaks." I said wincing slightly as i sat up.

"Strixes" he said cursing "Here, eat this" he handed me a piece of what sorta looked like if cake and blondies had a baby.

I ate it and immediately i felt warm and i couldn't feel the pain as bad in my side, and it tasted like the brownies my dad used to make, the ones with the chocolate chips and walnuts that you could only eat one of without feeling sick.

"Wow" i said savoring the flavor in my mouth "what is that?"

"Its ambrosia"

"Like ambrosia salad?"

"No. More like the food of the gods."

Right i had forgotten that all of those myths that my dad had read to me when i was young were suddenly coming true.

"Well whatever it was tastes amazing, and it seems to have helped with this" i said gesturing to the bandaged area

"Yeah thats kinda the point" a new voice said, Nico had walked in.

"Should i be jealous?" He said with a slight smiling looking from me to Will.

I guessed that they were probably dating,

"Oh god no, I'm gay." I said looking at him and smiling.

"Join the club" he laughed. "Breakfast is ready. They sent me in to get you guys."

"Alright, let's go" Will said, helping me up.

I already felt better and i really was starving.

So. Thea is gay! What can i say? I write what i know.

I tried to make this chapter a little longer by giving you guys a little bit of back story on Thea. I'm really excited about this book and I've already pre-written a few chapters so updates should be fairly regular.
