The Path To Iapetus

The Big House

Nico POV

After breakfast we walked into The Big House and saw Chiron waiting in his wheelchair in the living room.

"Come sit" he said with a friendly smile on his face.

The three of us sat down on the couch, Thea and I on either side of Will.

"So, i understand that you two" he said gesturing to me and Will, "got a prophecy last night at the campfire, but you were the only ones that heard it?"

"That is correct." Will said putting his arm around my shoulder.

"Would you care to tell me what the prophecy was?" Chiron said looking between me and Will,

"The child of the Sun
The child of death
The child of magic" I began

"Shall proceed with every last breath
Through fire and rain the three must trek
To seek out the Impaler and his pet" Thea finished, we all looked at her in surprise. "How did you know that?" Will said, his mouth still slightly open.

"I honestly don't know. It kinda just came to me when you started saying it." She said with a shrug "so you" she said pointing at Will "must be the 'child of the sun'. And you" she said pointing at me now "must be 'the child of death'. So i guess I'm the child of magic?" "That's our best guess," Chiron said looking slightly confused.

"So i just got here and I'm already part of some 'prophecy'?!" She said looking slightly pissed.

"Yes but you must understand that your mother clearly wanted you here, otherwise she wouldn't have sent you a dream." Chiron said in a calm tone.

"This is ridiculous" Thea said, but it seemed like she had accepted her fate.

"So" Will said breaking the tension "i guess that 'the impaler' is that Titan guy you were talking about last night?" He looked at me. "Yeah, probably. His name does mean 'The Impaler'."

"Wait you want to find Iapetus?!" Thea said "that dudes scary as all hell!"

"He's not Iapetus anymore" i said with a slight sigh, this is going to be embarrassing, "now he's Bob."

Ok it is currently 2:22am as I'm writing this and i am hella tired.

So what do you guys think so far?

I've been trying to make Thea swear like a mortal because she was only told she was a demigod like 3 days ago.

I swear I'm gonna start making it more interesting and making the chapters longer soon, I'm just trying to get through the part of the book where everything starts to get figured out and there are some major plot points in here so its completely necessary.

I also swear I'm gonna try and stop making excuses.
