Chapter 9: New Discoveries

11:18 AM.
Some Paved Path Outside Of Pleasantdale, [Undisclosed Location Of Current Town].

Eight minutes have passed since I started walking on the path, and I was starting to think about turning around and going back to where I started. The path was all scenic and windy, but now it's starting to feel too long and too far.

But just as I was about to give up on exploring this path due to how long it was becoming, I saw an end to the path. My thoughts were then redirected to seeing what was at the end of the path as it caught my attention and caught my interest.

What could possibly be at the end of the path?

Something magical?

A cave, maybe?

A nearby river?

What could it be?

Let's find out, shall we? What lies at the end of the path isn't going to be explored itself, you know.

My main focus was getting to the end of the path to see what new unexplored things were awaiting for me. There could be anything at the end of the path, and it could be explored just by a few more moments of walking.

Just as I began to become deep in thought as to what was at the end of this newly formed path, I have arrived at the end of said path. The path ended, merging to a sidewalk that was right beside a road. I started wondering where I was until I saw a sign next to the path.

The town of GLENSVILLE welcomes you. The sign read.

"Interesting... It seems that the path has led me to another town." I thought to myself.

This path has quite literally led me to a new place I've never been to before, so there was so much to explore and discover for myself. I did not know how big or small the town of "Glensville" was, all I know now is that it exists.

First things first, I began walking around the town of Glensville, seeing what the town had to offer. The town was adorned with small little shops, each of them unique from each other, some houses and buildings, and even a little park area. The more I explored, the more and more my interest latched onto this place. From what I could tell, this town appears to be somewhat older and more historic than the town I live right next to due to how the buildings and surroundings looked; maybe this town was established in the late 1800s to early 1900s? I'm going to have to Google the town of Glensville for more information about this place.

As I continued exploring this unfamiliar place, I realized that maybe I shouldn't have gone this far from where I was intentionally walking. Heck, I can't help that my curiosity has led me to a new place that was about ten / eleven minutes away just by walking. I might explore this place a little more tomorrow when I'm with Natalie; maybe she knows about this place more than me. If so she can probably give me a little tour of this place whilst giving me more information and how much of a significance this place holds if the weather's nice tomorrow. But today's not the day for that. Well, at least I got to see and explore what was at the end of the path in a nutshell. I also kinda had fun while doing so, so that's good.

10:45 PM.
My House, Pleasantdale.

Another day has come to an end, and it's now late at night, with me watching some Neilogical videos on YouTube with my high-tech iPhone XR to pass the time until my 11:00 PM bedtime comes around. I was of course very excited about going out with Natalie on the first day of summer like a kid on Christmas morning. Well, if she's able to.

Suddenly, as I went to click on another video, my phone starts ringing. My friend Natalie was calling. I wonder what she has to say to me.

Me > "Hello?"

Natalie > "What's up Jimmy? Sorry that I called so late. I meant to call you at around six but I couldn't since I had to help my mom and dad make dinner, which I then forgot until now."

Me > "Not a worry. I'm doing very well. How about you?"

Natalie > "Thanks for asking. I'm doing fine. Are you excited about tomorrow?

Me > "Of course I am! Why wouldn't I be excited?"

Natalie > "You have NO idea how much I can't wait to go out with you tomorrow; If the weather's nice that is."

Me > "I can tell. Oh, what time are we going out tomorrow and where are we meeting in town? We haven't made a game plan yet."

Natalie > "We will be meeting at the food and drink parlor in Pleasantdale at 5:30 PM."

Me > "Sounds like a plan. I'm hoping the weather forecast stays nice and sunny."

Natalie > "Let's hope it isn't rainy with a chance of gloom and doom tomorrow."

Me > "Oh, Natalie, have you heard about a town named "Glensville?" I discovered it on accident because of a path that leads from my town's nearby park to the town. I have gone into the town, but I only briefly explored it before going back to the park I came from."

Natalie > "Yes I have heard about Glensville, thank you for asking. It's the town that I live nearby, and it is, unfortunately, the town where my brother got blow-darted by that serial blow-darter. The town of Glensville was established in 1875, which is roughly 30 years before your town was established, not to mention the town is relatively smaller than the town you live nearby. I can give you a tour of the town if you want to tomorrow."

Me > "Gosh, I'd love to do that! I was planning on doing that with you tomorrow. I love exploring new things."

Natalie > "Ok, add that to the list of things to do tomorrow. Anyways, I gotta log off now, I'm getting really sleepy. It was nice talking with you."

Me > "It definitely was. I'll see you tomorrow. I'll even give you an update on the weather via text if anything changes if you like."

Natalie > "Hehe, sure thing, weather boy."

Me > "Haha, I will see you sometime soon."

Natalie > "Goodnight."

Me > "You too."

I then hung up the phone, and proceed to plug in my phone since the time was nearing my bedtime. I know I'm beginning to sound like a broken record, but I'm very excited to go out with Natalie on the first day of summer and further explore the historic town of Glensville. But until then, I gotta go to sleep and catch those Z's.

Hopefully the weather isn't miserable tomorrow.
