CONFESSION

Ryujin

After the sudden mess at lunch a while ago some of us decided to split up to enjoy some of the prepared activities and booths by other students

I was left with Hyunjin, as both of us walked pass by some food stalls while passing through the crowd of students

Until we arrived at the garden of this school with only few students left here, we both sat down at a bench near a tree as the shade of it prevented the sunlight burning our skins even more

"So..." the boy beside me muttered

"Hmm?" I hummed asking him back

"Ryujin, You're my twin sister's friend..."He started as his other hand placed his iced coffee beside him

"A-And we've been friends ever s-since middle school.." He added that somehow made me confused a bit

"Yeah?, What about it?" I replied to him as I was focus looking at some students practicing some dance from a far

I heard some shuffling which made me realized that he faced my direction and held my hand that made my attention go towards him

"W-Well, from all those y-years...I-I-I developed s-some weird attraction towards y-you" Hyunjin stuttered noticing that his ears were getting reddish while I was still analyzing what is happening

"You mean to say..." I paused, slowly understanding what he was meaning to say

He then took a deep breath and then held my hands a bit tighther but not that too much to hurt me..He held it while his eyes were staring straight to mine holding an emotion I couldn't recognize...

"Shin Ryujin, I like you "  Hyunjin said those three words and at the same time his eyes were sparkling while staring at mine

I grew a bit speechless not knowing how to react to his confession.

'I mean, I thought he was just being over friendly?'

'How am I suppose to distinguished his Friendliness from Liking me!?'

"Uh.." I mumbled but he immediately took something out of his bag

Flowers and Chocolates

He gave it to me as his eyes were gleaming...with hope...

"Don't worry, You don't have to answer me right away." Hyunjin stated as he sweetly smiled

'I'm sorry..'

"H-Here, Sorry if I gave this to you l-late" He stammered while he placed it down at my lap while I was stiff

Not knowing what to do...

He then took something out of his bag again, a teddy bear and placed it beside me

"I bought yesterday and planned to give this to you" Hyunjin smiled as he held my hand again and rubbed his thumb softly

"Hyunjin-ah.."

"..Ryujin?"

"I really appreciate your effort in your confession"

"Of course, I'll do everything for you"

'But I can't'

"I...I think I wouldn't be the right girl for you" I answered him and noticed his hands had let slowly let go of my hand

"..W-Why?" He asked as he sadly tried to smile at me

"I'm happy and I really enjoyed the moments whenever I am around with people I love.." I explained

"But...I c-can't see you being with me as m-more than friends..." I hesitantly added, a frown went to my face while tears suddenly dripped down to my cheeks

"W-Why are you crying" Hyunjin rapidly wiped my tears softly with his thumb, noticing that his voice was cracking a bit

'I'm sorry for hurting you'

"I'm so s-sorry.." my voice cracked while tears kept flowing down to my face...

Because, I just hurt one of my love ones...My bestfriend, that one who tried to understand me when nobody can't

"You don't have to be sorry..It's not your fault" Hyunjin sadly smile while a tear slipped down his eye, as he cupped my cheeks with both of his hands

"It was all on me, I liked you..Eventhough I know that my feelings wouldn't be noticed" He continued as he brushed some strands of my hair

"I chose to like you, and the pain that I'm feeling right now is normal...because I chose this and you don't have any fault at that.." He added, I couldn't help not to cry even more.

He hugged me as my tears couldn't stop flowing...I felt some droplets of water from my shoulder..

And I knew that he was crying as well...silently, And I hate myself for making my friend cry

Hyunjin broke the hug, he then wiped his own tears and smiled at me..

"We're still friends, right?" He asked which, I laughed while my eyes are still puffed

"Of course!" I replied

He then took those chocolates and opened it and gave me some as both of us ate it instead

Silence were emitted from the both of us...but it's  comfortable rather than awkward

"Don't worry about my feelings"

"It'll be gone soon..."

"So, Don't worry about it and focus on yourself" He then patted my hair and smiled at him and at the same time I yawned

"Don't worry, Just sleep. I'll just bring you home" Hyunjin brushed my hair that made my eyelids started closing

He then muttered something in the air that I wasn't able to catch before I had fallen asleep on his shoulder

"I'll like you unconditionally, Even though it would only hurt me more.."
