chapter ii. bloodstains
BACK TO REALITY
Evelynn stayed home for the next couple of days. She didn't want to go back to school after the events that had taken place, she didn't feel like she was ready to face the questions and the stares. She knew Stiles and Scott came over to visit her, Stiles more than Scott, but she refused to talk to them. They tended to blow up her phone, again Stiles more than Scott, to ask if she was okay and if she needed anything along with updates about their day. Evelynn felt guilty for not responding, but she couldn't. It wasn't anything personal, she just didn't have the guts to look at her two friends after what she had done. There was also the fact that she had trouble coming to terms that she was alive and not dead. The hybrid spent her days watching TV. She liked the fact that she could stay in the comfort of her home, watching shitty tv shows and escaping from the outside world, escaping from who she is, even if it was just momentarily. Evelynn knew she couldn't hide forever, though. No matter how much she wanted to stay on her living room couch eating chinese, she knew she had to go back at some point.
Jane thought Evelynn should stay home for a few more weeks, despite the school calling her everyday asking when the teenager would be back. The blonde woman was also worried for the hybrid. There was a full moon coming and she wasn't sure how it was gonna play out. This was new territory for both Evelynn and Jane and they had to take precautions. The last thing they both needed was for Evelynn to slaughter the entire high school due to the effects of the full moon.
Evelynn knew she wasn't ready to go back just yet. It was the day of the full moon and she was already feeling the effects. She had been more moodier than usual, her eyes kept flashing between grey and amber, her veins would protrude every now and then and her thirst for blood was unbearable. Her emotions were all over the place and she couldn't control her senses. She remained on the couch, eating ice cream and watching sitcoms to avoid the pain, but it didn't do much. Jane had taken the day off and was watching Evelynn wearily, hoping the teenager wouldn't go crazy.
The hybrid had wanted to call someone, but she didn't know who to call. Scott seemed like he was busy with Allison and she didn't want to call Stiles because it was unfair for her to ask for help when she had been ignoring him. Her only option left was Derek, but they didn't like each other much. Hell, they barely tolerated each other, but he was a better option than Scott because he knew more about control.
