Chapter 10: Pairs🍀

(NIALLS POV)

I sat tensely as I waited along with the hundreds of other superstars for my name to be called.

"Usher and leigh anne pinnock?" the blond lady called. Leigh Anne squealed and stood up, practically running up the stage to meet Usher. Perrie laughed at her excited bandmate as Leigh anne and Usher disappeared behind the stage's curtains. Pair after pair was called off, each pair disappearing behind the curtain to join the others. Iwas growing increasingly more nervous, and I know Crystal was too.

"Zayn Malik and...Perrie Edwards." The lady called. Oh my god, seriously? Out of hundreds of celebrities, the two lovebirds get paired together. Zayn and Perrie both stood up and went up to the stage with their best poker faces on...but you could still see the smile on Perrie's lips and the glisten in Zayn's eyes.

"Niall Horan and Demi Lovato?" the lady called, and I rose from my seat. Giving Crystal a thin smile I proceeded to the stage to meet Demi. She's a really good friend of mine, sweet and awefully nice to everyone. and despite the rumours, I feel absolutely no romantic feelings towards her. At all. Ive used all that up on Crystal. I just wished Crystal would see it, and love me back. That...that would be perfect. I disappeared with Demi around the curtain, where we found a room full of chatting popstars. Well, most of them were chatting. Two of them {cough Zayn and Perrie cough} were snogging away in the corner. Eww. Serious PDA, man. Demi started talking to me about which song we should use and where to meet up, but I kindof wasnt listening.

My eyes were locked on the curtains, waiting for Crystal to walk through. I couldn't pay attention to anything Demi was saying, because my mind kept drifting to Crystal. she was constantly on my mind. Eventually, Crystal did come through the curtains. I smiled as I watched her face; she was beaming in excitement. She practically ran in, throwing her arms around my neck and giving me a gigantic, warm hug.

I stumbled backwards in surprise, but Demi pushed my shoulders to keep my upright as the girl id fallen in love with gave me a perfect hug. I couldve stood there forever. But nope, Crystal was just to excited about whatever had made her happy.

"Ive gotten David Guetta Niall! DAVID. GUETTA. The master of all beats! Oh my god!" she squealed, jumping up and down. David Guetta was standing a few feet away, laughing at Crystal's fangirling.

"Oh, um, sorry if I just kinda attacked you like that." she mumbled, a blush spreading over her cheeks as she calmed down. I only chuckled, pecking her cheek lightly.

"No problem love." I smiled...she really is precious. With that, she ran off to talk to David Guetta, using wild hand gestures to illustrate their song choices or something...i could only guess.

"Youve got a crush on her, dont you Niall." Demi smirked from behind me. I just sighed a little and nodded. More than just a crush. But I didnt tell Demi that, of course. That was for Crystals ears and Crystal's ears alone.

"Knew it! Ok....well, lets pick ourselves a song." she suggested brightly. And with my mind still lingering on Crystal, I began to pick a song for my duet with Demi.
