I crashed through the many trees, my lungs burning from the lack of oxygen. Yet, I kept running, tripping over roots and stones, barely managing to not go skidding across the ground. A loud screeching sound ensued behind me, and a blast of air knocked me over. I let out a muffled sob, quickly scrambling to my feet and running again, just to hit my ankle against a large root and fall over again. Barely holding back my panic, I tried to get back to my feet and fell with a sharp cry, holding my ankle in pain. Whimpering, I whipped my head around to meet a pair of huge blue eyes.
