*Bertholdt and annie walk side by side in silence, bertholdt can't help but feel a bit uneasy due to the conversation, he really just wants to look at her but breaks his silence*

Bertholdt: I thought you and armin?

Annie: huh? What made you think that?

Bertholdt: yea...but you don't have to love me

Annie: you're right, I don't, but I do

Bertholdt: ....

Annie: bertholdt you're so hard on yourself you think you don't deserve love, I'm the same but I see your potential

Bertholdt: annie please don't say that about yourself, you are great, very strong and admirable,you can stand alone, so independent who wouldn't love you

Annie: ....why are you complimenting me?

Bertholdt: I can't help it, I don't want anything in return, you should just know your one of a kind

*Bertholdt looks at annie grateful to just see her face and hear her voice again as he turns around ready to leave annie to her own thoughts*

Bertholdt: ...sorry

Annie: no, please....stay here, recently I was hysterical, not myself, you saw that, I was that way before too when I learned you died, yelling at anything and everything because your death made me realize the world is shit, it kills even the kindest of people..what's the point of saving it when everything in it just dies anyway

*As annie starts to tear up bertholdt walks and gently hugs her body into him pressing ever so slightly to show her his warmth*

Bertholdt: annie.... the future..

Annie: ...?..

Bertholdt: I think..to save the world is to save the future, after us, if I am to fight, I don't want generations after me to continue my war, I fight to attain a peace, maybe not in my lifetime but a peaceful future, although I know I will never see it, if my actions can contribute to that peace, I'll keep fighting, no one else should have to go through our hardships, if I can help anything I want to help that.

Annie: that's......nice

Bertholdt: it is. ..but you annie...you are the peace I can see right now, in my lifetime......reiner too of course he's my brother
