2o56 was the year I was captured by The Separates's Army and was sold in the slave auction. They only hold two slave auctions a year so it is a pretty big deal to all of the masters, especially Mr.Smith. He has 300,000 slaves and normally gains about 20 thousand a year between the two auctions. Most slaves have masters that give ten minute breaks every hour, pay five dollars and hour, get a bed to sleep in, and only get whipped when trying to escape. Mr.Smith is very different. We get no breaks, no pay, no bed, and get whipped every time he is the slightest bit angry.
The year of 2056 was the year I was beaten the most. Mr.Smith and his wife were fighting and he beat us every night for about 40 days. Then one day, it just stopped. No one questioned why we were all just happy we could relax. In fact, we didn't even see Mr. Smith for about a week. So we all started slacking on our jobs which was a huge mistake. He came back in a rampage. You could see it the terror in the other kids faces. You could hear the blood hurling screams echo throughout the nothingness that surrounded the plantation. This was the worst day I had in my life so far, but if I only knew what was to come.
By the end of the year everyone looked like pathetic excuses for human beings. The skin on our back was ground to what was literally a pulp. Our sculls beaten to what looked like play dough. But our feet, they were tougher than nails.
