I made it to the coffee place that I've assigned to meet. And it seems to me that I came first. Vincent is nowhere to be found. I wondered if he even bothered to come at all, and if this was all just a waste of time... damn... if he just didn't want to come then he could've said that his plans have changed. I went over to the counter where one of the employees was standing behind the cash register. The friendly deer greeted me with a cheerful smile. "Hello, welcome to Hot Brewed Cafe. My name is Zyle. What may I get for you this WONDERFUL morning?" You don't get many cheerful workers here in this city. The more happy ones like Zyle are usually graduated collage students, or just someone in a fantastic mood. Zyle seems fresh out of university, maybe he drank a cup of coffee, causing him to be very high in energy. That does look like that's the case. "Hello, may I get a small dark roast and a muffin please?" I asked. He nodded, then pressed a few buttons on the register. "Anything else for you, sir?" Zyle asked, still keeping his smile on his face. I thought about it, then nodded back. "A blueberry muffin, please." I replied. He looked at the register, pressed more buttons, then looked back at me. "Your total comes down $4.48, sir." I pulled out my wallet, then gave him a five. He was about to give me change, but I insisted. I sat down on a table, the waited for Vincent.
A minute passed, and soon Vincent finally arrived. I looked at him, causing him to look back at me, awkwardly, and giggling in a hushed and guilty voice. I sighed. "It's okay. At least you're here. That's what matters." I said trying to cheer him up. He had a slight smile on his face as he looked up at me. "... Thanks." Vincent replied. He ordered his cup of coffee, then sat down on a chair, facing me. We talked about how our day was, and I asked him why he came a bit late. "Well..." He began. "I was walking, until a few guys tried to mug me. I ran as fast as I can, then hid behind a dumpster near a crowded area. Soon, when I waited there for five minutes, I rushed here. And thank God I finally made it. It's rough out there..." I nodded in agreement. "Yea... pretty bad out there... most likely need to travel in a group, or in our case, a pack." I said jokingly. Vincent smiled, then hid his face with his hand, sighing. "That was stupid of you. Never say that again." "Alright, alright... thanks for melting my mood, jerk..." I said quietly, but he heard me. "What the Hell you say to me you small shit?" He asked in a gentle tone. I was prepared to get out of my seat and run for it. This guy is taller then me. When I got up to run, he held my arm. "AGH-" "Chill! I'm not gonna hurt you, okay? I'm just playing with you." Vincent said with a smile on his face. "You know, you're kind of adorable when you freak out..." That comment made me blush. All I did now was stare at him, not knowing what to say. He broke the silence with a chuckle. "Come on. What's the matter? It's true." I shook my head. Still, silent. He looked at the muffin, then picked it up, putting it closely to my face. "Hello? Earth to Snowball? Did I melt your mind with what I said?" "Y-yes..." "Oh, well... come on. Let's get going." *I nodded, following him outside. He ate the muffin, and seemed to like it.
We walked over to his place. The inside was beautiful. He led me to the living room. His light blue couch was very soft, his carpet is comfortable to stand on, his coffee table is shiny, and his curtains were a wonderful shade of white and blue. His television is a bit big, but that doesn't really matter much to me, nor him. He brought me a cup of water and a cookie. We talked for a while about our family and what we're going to do once we fully graduate. He wants to become a professional guitar player, and that's okay with me. So far, he's a natural with it. I just want to move back to the colder places of the world, and he agreed with me on that one.
We were so caught up with our chat that I haven't realized the time. 8:31 PM. If I wanted to walk back to my place, it would take me at least two hours. "Hey, uh... can I sleep here for the night, please?" I asked tiredly. He nodded. "Yea, go ahead. My parents won't be home for two more days, so go ahead." We both smiled. He gave me a blanket and a pillow from a cabinet, then handed them to me, still keeping the smile on his face. I smiled back. "Thank you Vincent." "Anything for a friend." He said. I set up the pillow and blanket on the couch. "So, what do you want for dinner?" Vincent asked me. He opened up a kitchen cabinet. "Your choice." I said. Vincent grabbed two cups of instant noodles, and heated up water. He put two plastic forks in them, then walked over to me with the cups in both of his hands. He handed me one, then sat beside me, eating the noodles. I ate the noodles as well, both of us laughing in the process.
Eventually, it was time to clock out for the night. Vincent wandered himself over to his room, while I lied on the couch, still smiling, remembering what he said. Soon, I went to sleep, soundly.
