6 Heros: A Refresh AU

Faris for Fresh

   "Dodge left!" Error barely noticed the debris before it was right on top of them. This place was a mine field. The swirling gases that made up the vortex did little to help Error focus. His pounding headache had returned. 

   "Fresh can you see the ship?" Error asked holding on a bit tighter. He could hardly see anything in here. 

   "Got it." Fresh hummed. 

   Error looked straight ahead. "Go for it. Ill watch your back." 

   Fresh launched forward. 

   "Bank right!" Error cried as another large chunk of building flew at them. Everything was so floaty and surreal here. Error didn't like it. He didn't like it one bit. 

   Fresh payed attention and went right before straightening out again. Error could make out the white shape of the ship. "Almost there Fresh."

   They made it to the ship. Error swiped a hand over the cool glass. He watched the boys chest rise and fall with breath. He was actually alive. "Alright. We have to hurry out of here."

   "Right." Fresh gripped onto the ship and took off back towards the portal.

   "Up. UP! Hurry!!" There was a huge chunk of glass heading for theme. There was no way to dodge unless they made it to that broken spot. Almost... Almost..! NO!

   "Fresh!" Error cried swimming back over and gripping onto his brothers helmet. "Hey. Are you there."

   Fresh blinked wearily and tightened his grip on the ship again. "I'm fine. No internal damage." He held onto Error and... his rockets didn't work. 

   Error looked around frantically trying to think of something to get the three of them out of there. 

   Fresh had already run all the scenarios. They all ended in some type of loss... He clicked his chip holder. "There is a way I can get you and the ship to safety."

   Error turned and watched Fresh start warming his rocket glove up. His sockets blew wide open. "No. No!"

   "It's the only way Error." Fresh sighed sounding much more like a robot than usual. 

   "I can't. Not you too." Error felt tears running down his face as his goggles started to fog up. "Please."

   "Error-"

   "There had to be another way!"

   "Error."

   "I can't lose you so soon after Geno!"

   "Error!" 

   Error paused and looked at the robot. 

   Fresh gave a short smile as the light dimmed in his eyes. "I love you Error."

   Error sniffled and threw his arms around Fresh's neck. "I love you too." He whispered. "Goodbye..." 

   As Error and the ship soared through the portal Error looked back. Fresh was just floating in the blurry emptiness. 'Goodbye...' He whispered. 

   At least he got to say goodbye to this brother...
