Troubles

Kai's pov

We were tackled to the floor viciously. The smell of metal and blood was heavier as the object smashed me and Jay together causing us both to sway dizzily. Cole took the chance and Punched our attacker to the floor tenaciously. Cole and Jay held the attacker's arms and legs in place and I lit my hand with fire to get a look at the imposter's face.

She looked fairly young despise her recent appearance. She had shriveled raven black hair that was cut unevenly to her ears. Her skin was a pale green and her eyes were dark and soulless. She tried to gnash her teeth at me and the sight of her teeth made me want to throw up. They were yellow and crooked with the same black liquid from earlier oozing down freely. Her clothes were tattered out and she kicked and growled savagely.

"Ugh—why—argh—is she—ugh—thrashing so much?" Struggled Jay. "She looks...familiar." I said perplexed. "Kai just hurry up wouldya?" Jay said annoyed and struggling to keep the freak down.

"Huh? O-oh yeah s-sorry." I replied with a chuckle. The girl attempted to bite Cole who punched her jaw roughly. She screamed and kicked as much as she could. "Can she talk?" Grunted Cole. I was unsure but moved closer to the girl studying her features. "Ma'am can you speak?" I asked in my calmest tone. She stopped thrashing and made eye contact with me. Her dark black eyes staring into mine made me want to look away. They made me feel like I was looking at a character from coraline.

She took a pause then Jay and Cole saw that as a sign and loosened their grip. But the second they did that, she leapt forward and pinned me to the ground. 'Déjà vu much?' I thought to myself as I wrestled with the girl. Her mouth was just inches from my neck until Jay and Cole were able to pull her off me. I just laid there on the ground, huffing tiredly. 'Why is it always me?' I thought while Jay and Cole strained to keep her in a pinned position.

I got up in time to see Jay and Cole fly backwards to the wall with grunts of pain. The girl glared my way and escaped through the exit with a groan. "Are you guys okay?" I ask tiredly. Jay gave a thumbs up and immediately dropped it and Cole just nodded and laid his head back down.

After recovering

"We should get out of here." I suggested. "Yeah this place gives me the creeps." Answered Jay in a shook voice. "Who even was that, and what was she doing?!" Asked Cole while swiping dirt off his gi. "I don't know. We need to regroup and ask Wu." I ordered. The other two nodded their agreement and we ran down the stairs rather quickly.

Zane, Nya and Lloyd were already hanging in the lobby eagerly waiting for us to arrive. Nya's face was one of relief and fear as well. She ran to me and jumped into a hug so fast, I almost fell over. "Nya what's wrong?" I asked concerned for my sister. "Were you attacked?" She asked quickly. The three of us nodded questionably. "Thank god you're okay." She squeaked. "Hey what about me?" Asked Jay dramatically. Nya laughed and embraced Jay and Cole as well.

"It was just really weird. We discovered a secret lair under the sewers and it looked like someone was experimenting." Nya explained clearly shook. "Then out of nowhere, a man came and attacked us." She added, shuddering at the memory. "He actually bit Zane but he's metal so it didn't affect him." Summed Nya.

"We should get back and talk about it somewhere more....safe." Ordered Lloyd. They all agreed quickly and left the sketchy building.
While running out, Kai felt a sting of pain on his forearm but made sure to cover it up and kept running. The ninja were quick to jump in their vehicles and leave that they didn't notice a shadow limping brainlessly towards them.

Soon at the monastery

Kai was quick to run inside and lock himself in his room. He pulled off his glove instantly and gasped at the sight. On his forearm was a bite size mark that had purple flowing veins pouring out from it. Although it was small at the moment, Kai knew it would only progress from there. He slipped his glove back on and whimpered in pain as the wound stung viciously.
