When Miles and I get back to the castle, everything is chaotic.

"Who will replace him?" Someone says.

"Wait, where was he last?" Someone else asks.

"They're talking about my advisor," I whisper to Miles.

"What are you going to do about his sudden death?" Miles asks me.

"I will tell the truth," I say calmly.

Miles looks shocked.

"Kyra I-"

I cut him off.

"May I please have everyone's attention?" I yell.

The room goes silent and the staff turns to face me.

"My advisor is dead. For those of you wondering, yes, my dragon friend did it. No, my friend Cecillia is not dangerous, but she is loyal. My advisor said some horrible and disrespectful things about me and that enraged her. She is not a violent or dangerous animal and has never acted in this way before, nor will she again unless she hears more disrespectful words about me. Let this serve as a reminder that we are a team. All of us in this castle should work with and for each other; not against. I am also personally taking the responsibility of finding a new advisor. Please do not contact anyone about applying for a job. I and I alone will select my new advisor. Understood?" I say to everyone.

My staff nods and goes back to work; muttering about who they think the new advisor will be.

"I'm going to go grab a snack," Miles says.

"Alright. I will be working on finding my new advisor," I tell him. I try my best not to grin but I am not successful.

"Why are you grinning?" Miles asks.

"I'm just happy you're here," I say. That is one of the reasons I am grinding, but the main reason I am grinning is because I am going to surprise Miles.

In my office, I straighten up some papers and begin writing a letter. It reads:

Mister Miles,

Please come to my office immediately. I have some important matters that I wish to discuss with you. Thank you in advance for coming immediately.

Most sincerely,

Queen Kyra of Selia

I put it in an envelope and write his name on it.

I go into the hallway by my office and hand the envelope to a maid.

"Please deliver this to Miles," I say.

She takes the letter from my hand gingerly and scurries away to find Miles.

I go back into my office and wait for Miles to come in.

A few minutes later I hear a knock on my door.

"Who is it?" I ask.

"It's me."

It's Miles. No one else in this castle addresses themselves so informally.

"Come in Miles," I say.

He walks in nonchalantly.

"What's up?" He asks.

"I would like to discuss some serious matters with you," I say.

"Is everything okay Kyra?" He asks.

"Yes, but I do need a new advisor. I have called you to my office so that I can offer you that position," I say.

"Be the royal advisor? Damn...why not?" He says as his mouth breaks into an enormous grin.

"New rule: no more formalities while we are working together," I say.

"Deal!" He says. "I was wondering why you were being so formal with me," He says chuckling.

"I guess it was just routine," I say.

Suddenly, I get an idea.

"Miles, I think that everyone should be able to address me a little more informally. I mean, who made up the stupid rule that you have to be so polite and unemotional when you address someone in a higher authority than you? I am going to gather the staff later and tell them that they do not need to be so formal and overly respectful anymore!" I proclaim.

"I think that's a great idea!" Miles says, smiling at me proudly.

"Miles..." I say.

"Yes?" He asks.

"Now that you are my official advisor, I have an important question that I need your advice on," I say.

"Of course! What do you want my advice on?" He says.

"I want to know if now would be a good time to ask you to marry me or not," I say. My face trunks bright red. I can't even look at Miles right now. I am so nervous.

"I think now would be a perfect time," He says, looking at me with those gorgeous dark blue eyes.

I exhale.

"I would have said more in response, but I know you hold your breath when you get scared or nervous and I didn't want you to run out of air," He says.

"You know me so well!" I say, shaking my head in disbelief that I could ever feel this happy. "Miles, will you marry me?"

The words tumbled out of MIles's mouth."There is nothing in this world that could make me happier than to be with you for the rest of my life and even after that. Yes, Kyra, I will marry you!"

My heart bursts with joy. I leap into his arms and he spins me around and around. I squeeze my eyes shut and relish the moment.

We stop spinning around and my head continues to spin. Maybe it will never stop spinning. Maybe I will feel this dizzy happiness forever.

I know something that is not a maybe: I am going to be with Miles for the rest of my life and even after that.
