"SERAPHINA!!" A young woman cried out in hysteria and despair.
What's going on? Why is everything red and blurry? why do I feel like something is draining out of me??
.....Am I dying??.......
....gods, am I actually going to die?..... If I am,.....
"Gods...Please, spare me of an eternity in hell...." I muttered under my breath as my eyes shut slowly.
As time slowed down. I felt my body be lifted onto a table. And sirens were blaring. And soon, I felt my consciousness slip away into the darkness.
*Time skip by fading into a black screen, but then to where Seraphina was asleep in the in-between world*
"Darling, Seraphina darling, please wake up."
Darling? who is calling me darling??
"It's time to wake up now dear."
My eyes fluttered open, the world was no longer red, nor blurry. The sirens were not blaring, and I was not staring at the sky, but a ceiling. A soft Ivory ceiling, with soft sheets covering my aching bones. As if my soul was ripped away from my body..
"Wh-Where am I??" I asked the mysterious voice as I sat up from the remnants of my seemingly 'eternal' slumber.
I glanced over to where the voice was, there. I saw a being. Pale skin, an all-black and white cloak covering them, and black and white wings to match.
"W-who are you? How did I get here?" I asked politely to the being in front of me.
A smile graced their lips sotly, and a small chuckle blessed my ears.
"You are in the in-between world, my dear. This is where those who have either recently passed and those who are waiting to be judged in a trial stay."
"The in-between? I-I have researched about it, but I never knew it actually existed! That means....you are the newest guardian, I assume?" I stuttered slightly in excitement
The deity chuckled sweetly at my excitement.
"Yes, and no my dear. You are not dead, the doctors made a close call with you. A few minutes more, you'd be the most powerful angel in heaven!" the deity explained rather delightfully.
"Wait, most powerful? What do you mean? Aren't there more powerful angels? Micheal, Gabriel.....Camael......"
"Yes, indeed they are powerful, but there is a reason why you are this way. Which you will find out momentarily." the deity replied to my question with a graceful smile.
Soon, my eyes began to grow weary. Was I still sleepy? I don't know. But I felt my eyelids drooping down.
"Guardian...I apologize... but I ask why I'm still sleepy?"
"hm. It seems your body is going comatose. So you will fall asleep for a short amount of time. Sleep well dear."
"G-goodnight..." I muttered under my breath. Falling into a seemingly eternal slumber once more.
