— Potters POV—
Things had been weird for a while. Nothing you did could get your mind off the whole situation. You usually looked to Dawson to talk about this stuff but, being as that he was involved in your drama, he wasn't even an option.
You made your way to the kitchen, where you filled your plate with the food Bessie had made you for breakfast.
" So, are you planning to fill me in or do I have to die from anticipation?" she asked as she placed a pancake on both your plates.
" What?" You asked, trying to play it off cool so Bessie didn't catch on to the pure turmoil in your life.
" How was it seeing A.J.? And leave no sordid detail unturned."
Thank god, she didn't catch on yet.
" Well lets see. . . We broke up, and then Pacey went insane and kissed me." The words slipped out of your mouth like butter. You weren't planning on telling Bessie or anyone for that matter but, you needed to get it off your chest and tell someone. Bessie couldn't have been a better pick, being as that Andy was still getting over Pacey and Jen wasn't someone you thought of, to share the intimate details of your life with.
"Oh my god. . . Oh my god! How could he do this to you?" Her voice was full of pure shock and amusement.
You both made your way to the patio, with a full plate of breakfast and a glass of orange juice.
" Well, technically, I maybe sort of. . . Let him do it to me, but I still blame him entirely." I lied. I kissed him back but, Bessie doesn't have to know that. Nobody does. " And then he gave me this look, like ..."
" I know the look. . . . So, what's the problem? If you let him do it, then maybe you wanted it. " Bessie interrupted.
" Dawson!", You didn't feel like giving an indefinite answer to her observation. "I mean if he found out, I don't even want to think about what would happen if he found out. I mean, I know one thing, we could kiss out friendship goodbye." The anxiety started running through your body again and Bessie was picking up on it but, boy, did it feel good to let it out and talk to someone.
The kiss was the topic of your whole breakfast together and you didn't want to continue boring Bessie with your boring teenage drama but, there was still one question you needed to know. . .
"Do you think it was more than just and impulse?" You looked off in the distance with a focused frown. You so badly wanted it to be more than an impulse but, you knew it'd be wrong.
" I don't know, Joey."
" Thanks, youre a big help." You said snootily.
You knew she wouldn't know the answer to that question but, the unknowingness and frustration was getting to you.
" Im sorry. Look, Im obviously not telling you what you wanna hear because, I honestly don't know. You know maybe you should talk to someone about it, someone who could help you figure it out." You gasped.
" Who? Dawson, Pacey, Andie?" She didn't know, she was the only person you could ask advice for. " I mean, this is what youre supposed to help me with."
"I can't shed light on this one for you. Im sorry, Joey." And with that, she got up with her empty plate and walked away, leaving you at your chair.
She was right. In order to find out the answer, you'd need to talk to someone your own age or someone who could pry the answer off Pacey themselves. the unfortunate fact was, you had no one. You sat in the sun for another couple minutes before putting away your dish and heading to school.
