Bea walked in nervously, shaking and nibbling on her fingers. She never thought she would end up here. In a women's prison for the murder of her husband.
Of course she didn't do it. Or at least that's what she told herself. She also told herself that her husband got what was coming for him. He committed suicide and that was that.
"This way smith" officer smiles guided Bea to the search room where Governor Ferguson was waiting.
"Bea Smith right? I'm governor Ferguson" She said as she closed the door the strip search. "I heard about your...situation with your husband" she said smugly "Off with the clothes now"
As Ferguson continued speaking to her, outlining the prison rules, Bea stripped of her clothing and tossed them in a pile.
"Bend over" Was what Ferguson said next. Making Bea's skin crawl.
Bea slowly bent her figure and Ferguson ordered her to redress afterwards.
"Miss miles, please escort Bea to H1" Ferguson ordered officer miles after giving Bea a box full of teal prison clothing and other essential items.
Officer Miles escorted Bea to H1. Passing through the prison yard, Bea looked around at all the other inmates. Stopping when she saw a familiar face.
"Allie!"
She called out to her and Allie froze in her tracks. Seeing the older women brought back so many flashbacks at once that she was taken back by her sudden presence.
Miss miles kept leading Bea to H1 while Bea kept looking back at Allie.
Once Bea was in H1 and taken to her cell, she looked around at the small space. Making a note to talk to her daughter Debbie, immediately. She wanted photos of her to hang up around her cell.
She sat down on the empty mattress. Getting a feel of her new home for the next three months before her trial.
Before she knew it, Allie came to her door and knocked softly, making Bea stand up.
"Bea, what are you doing here?" Allie asked her.
"Question is, what are you doing here" she said firmly. "I thought you were getting clean?"
"I was- well I am I haven't touched that shit in two years!"
"Congratulations. I know it must have been hard"
"It was but I got through it. Kaz helped me a lot. Pretty much took me under her wing. She's here if you ever wanna meet her" Allie smiled. She walked in closer to Bea, standing face to face.
"Sure" Bea said simply. Looking at the younger woman and smiled. It had been months since she saw that famous smile on Allies face and she wasn't going to lie and say she didn't miss it.
They both looked at each other. Remembering when they were in this exact moment not so long ago. Except this time much different as they were in prison.
Allie gradually moved closer to the older woman and reached her hand out to touch her cheek. "I missed you" she said softly.
Bea smiled and searched for the younger woman's eyes. "I missed you too" she said simply. Looking down at the younger woman's lips.
Allie leaned in slowly, leaning in to press her lips against Bea's.
"Guys get ready for the count!" Officer Will Jackson called out to them. Prisoners shuffling about, getting to their respective cells just in time.
"I'll talk to you later?" Allie smiled
"Meet me in the kitchen later" Bea smirked
Allie smirked and walked out of her cell. "Move it Novak" Will said.
"I'm going, I'm going"
"Smith, Jenkins, birdsworth, Conway" Will read off the names and then left the block. All of the prisoners wondered off again. Some back into their cells and some to make a phone call.
Bea used this time to wait in the phone line so that she could phone Debbie. Luckily the line wasn't too long. By the time she got to the phone, she hurriedly dialed the number to the house line.
"Hello?" Bea rang, hopeful that Debbie would answer.
"Mum?"
Bea sighed in relief and smiled. "Yea. It's me, Debbie how are you?"
"I'm fine mum" Bea could hear the smile in Debbies voice.
"That's good Debbie. Listen, I'm gonna try to get out of her soon. In the meantime, please stay out of trouble will you? I don't want to hear anything bad from you"
"Okay mum. I miss you" Debbie's voice started to quiver. This made Bea's heart shatter. She wanted nothing more than to hug her daughter and tell her that everything would be okay.
"I miss you too" Bea croaked through her tears. "Can you do something for me please?"
"Yes mom?"
"Talk to me. Tell me everything that's happening with you. Just stay on the phone with me" Bea asked her as she wiped away her tears.
Debbie talked to her mum. Telling her about school and her friends and everything she could possibly think of. Wanting to stay on the phone as long as she possibly could.
"Debbie, I've got to go now. But I want you to know that I love you to the moon and back"
"I love you too mum. To the moon and back" Debbie smiled as she wiped away her tears. "Bye mum"
"I love you Debbie" was the last thing Bea said before she heard the click of the phone hanging up.
As she hung the telephone wire, she was startled to see Boomer right behind her.
"Oi, hurry up. I've got call Daz" Boomer rushed to the phone a quickly dialed the number.
Chuckling, Bea turned her heal and headed towards the kitchen.
Stay tuned for the next update. Impatiently waiting for season 9!!
