Chapter 2

Conali awoke in Thranduil's arms the next morning, she wrapped herself in one of the sheets and walked over to her wardrobe where she slipped on a silver dress. Thranduil stood and put on a matching silver tunic.
"really? so we are going to match today?" she smirked.

"yes, yes we are," he laughed. she smiled and walked out to the gardens, she was admiring the roses when Legolas came up behind her. he spun her around and placed a kiss on her lips, she tried to pull away but he was relentless, she kicked him in the groin and ran to the palace. unknown to her, Thranduil had followed her to the gardens and saw everything. he walked over and grabbed his son by the neck and slammed him to the ground. he continuously punched him until a guard who saw nothing of previous events, came and pulled him off, "how dare you do that to her!? she's mine!" he said and broke out of the guards grasp. he went over and punched Legolas back to the floor. "ada! until she has pledged herself to someone she is still counted as available,"

"yes i know, she pledged to me last night."
Legolas gulped and was kicked in the gut. Thranduil quickly walked back to the palace in search of Conali, he ran to their chambers and saw her curled up on the bed. "i took care of him," i told her.

"did you kick his ass?" she asked.

"yes, i kicked his ass," the king laughed, "you hungry?"

"uh yeah,"
he grabbed her hand and they walked quietly to the dining hall. they sat and had fresh salads and fruits placed in front of them, "we will be having a large "party" soon, the feast of starlight is coming up," he told her.

she choked on her food, "pa-p-party?"

"so im guessing you don't like parties,"

"i hate parties,"

"well you are going,"

"no i-"

"you are going, last time im saying it,"

she simply nodded and kept eating.
"when is it?" she asked.

"two days" he said stiffly.

"whats the matter with you?" she asked sharply.
he lifted his head and she could see the tears rolling down his cheeks. she stood and wiped away his tears, "whats wrong?" she asked calmly.
"i need this" he said and pulled her down into a deep, passionate kiss.
"what was that for," she asked when they pulled apart.

"i needed to stop thinking about all the kin i have lost,"

"ok," she perked up and kissed him once again.

"come with me, i have to show you something," he told her. he grabbed her hand and pulled her into the dark forest. he started climbing up one of the trees, "come on!" she did as told and followed him up the tree, when she arrived at the top she was surrounded with light and blue butterflies. she smiled brightly and took in the beautiful sight.
"its beautiful"

"i thought you might like it," he told her.

"i love it,"

"i love you." Thranduil blurted, he couldn't believe he did, he didn't want to take it back but he didn't want to be too straight forward. she stared blankly at him, "i uhh um.......Gi melin, thranduil"
he smiled and wrapped his arm around her and looked upon the vast beauty. The sun went down and after another few hours of admiring the stars they climbed out of the tree. they ran to their chambers and climbed into bed, he wrapped his arm around her and pulled her to him. She smiled and buried her head in his chest and drifted to sleep. she had dreams of the human men beating her and forcing her to do mens work, she woke in the middle of the night screaming and covered in sweat. Thranduil tried and tried to comfort her but to all a fail. her breathing was heavy and worsening. she got dizzier and dizzier and finally passed out, thranduil picked her up and ran as fast as he could to the healing wing. "please, please heal her it is the simplest thing to do," he pleaded to the healer, vonawae.

"why, what is she to me?" vonawae asked rudely.

"Vonawae, i am your king and you will do as i say, forget about the past and live in the present,"

(long ago vonawae courted thranduil and had deep feelings for him but he lost those feelings and broke it off with her but she never stopped loving him)

"yes my lord,"
he placed Conali on the table and vonawae chanted a spell, Conali's eyes fluttered open and took in her surroundings. thranduil pecked vonawae on the cheek, "was that so hard?"
she could feel her cheeks grow hot and she smiled. with that small gesture, she was convinced he still had feelings for her. he smiled unknowingly and carried Conali back to their chambers.
jealousy was struck into vonawae's heart once again. she clenched her fists and went back to sorting herbs.
Thranduil gently laid Conali on the bed. she reached up and stroked his cheek, "i love you," she said softly before drifting off into a dreamless sleep. Thranduil kissed her forehead, "i love you to mela," it hadn't even been a week yet and they already confessed their love, thranduil couldn't believe they had but none the less, he was glad they did.

the next morning she woke to thranduil at her side, wide awake," thranduil, what is this party for?"

"Mereth Nuin Gilliath"

"the feast of starlight?"

"all light is sacred to the eldar, wood elves love most the light of the stars,"

"they are beautiful arent they?" she laughed.

"yes, yes they are, like you"
