Mermaid David

David had been working at Seaworld for a very long time now. But he enjoyed his job a lot. On this particular day, he was cleaning the dirty water. Then David heard something. 

"You're one of us now," 

David looked around. It was empty, except for all the animals. He ignored it, thinking it was his imagination.

"Damn, shawty, lemme whisper in your ear."

This time, David was sure he heard it. He looked around frantically, afraid someone broke into the water park. But no, no one broke into the water park. It was empty. It was very early in the morning, no one should be there yet. He got closer to the dolphin tank beside him.

"Hello, David." A dolphin said.

David eyes widened. Was the dolphin really talking? Surely not, right? Animals can't talk.

"Touch the water, David." A dolphin said.

Touch the water? 

David reached his hand out and touched the water. He felt a sudden urge to dive into the tank. He gave into the urge and jumped in. The dolphins looked at him. Then, he felt something happen. He didn't feel his legs anymore. He looked down and saw.... A mermaid tail?! David also realized he could breathe underwater. 

"This is your true form, David. You're a mermaid." A dolphin said.

David accepted this. He was a mermaid, there was no going back.
