Eret loved his new family. They technically weren't family but Eret couldn't see them as anything less. They all worked together well. They were annoying but fun to be around. Eret helped them with multiple jobs like decorations and tools. Any ideas they would say Eret tried to give them tips and tricks for it. Eret couldn't ask for a better one.
Until weeks went by. Wilbur started to prioritise Tommy. Tubbo and Tommy had their own adventures. Fundy was busy most of the time and Wilbur was trying to get his attention. Eret couldn't help but feel lonely. He missed how excited Tommy and Tubbo would get when they heard his voice. Anytime he tried to speak to them now he would be ignored. Even when he built the walls around the nation he didn't get a thanks they immediately went to plan without him.
Eret was finishing off the walls when someone used a trident to get to him. His hope for a friend faded when he saw a green hoodie.
"What do you want." Eret immediately said.
"Right to the point I see." Eret stopped building and looked at him. "I've seen you around Eret. You seem useful and honestly a great guy." Dream walked towards him.
"But they don't see that do they?" Dream questioned. Eret looked down.
"Their busy trying to beat your dumbass." Eret said. But he was right.
"Listen Eret. Our land holds your castle right?" Eret nodded.
"How about. We'll secure your safety and we'll appreciate you if you become the king of DreamSmp." Dream says.
"You're an idiot." Eret laughed and continued to build.
"They are my family I wouldn't do anything to hurt them."
"But do they see you as family?" Eret stopped.
"Come on Eret. We'll appreciate you over here. Every time we see your castle we always are in awe of how cool it is! So come on take the deal." Dream walks closer putting his hand out.
"Oi fuck off!" Tommy exits the van shooting at Dream.
"I'll speak to you soon." Dream ran off and flew out of the lake.
"Hey Eret." Eret looked at Wilbur.
"Don't let him in the walls. You see him shoot." Eret nods. Wilbur walks away with Tommy at his side. Not bothering to ask if Eret was harmed. Eret knew his decision.
"It was never meant to be."
The day came of betrayal. He betrayed them. His associates. Not family. Not friends. They all seemed hurt. But Eret assumed it was lies. The war ended with them cursing out Eret and the others. He went to his castle.
"I'm home." Erets voice echoed throughout the walls.
"Yes you are king Eret." Dream was with Sapnap and George and he passed him a crown.
"I hope you enjoy it here." Eret nodded. The trio left leaving Eret alone.
Eret had all the space he needed. He got bored and built flamingos. He named every one of them. He saw how L'manburg got two new members. He felt lonely. People would visit now and again but no one from L'manberg ever did. Just walking in the direction would be people sending glares at him. Then the election came. He went but no one talked to him. Even after the election. He offered Wilbur and Tommy help. It would have been safe since no one visited anyway. But they denied. Tommy called him a traitor and they left. No one trusted him. He felt lonely.
Eret walked away from the groups of people. He was told to tear down the walls but they wouldn't notice if he left anyway. He was sad that his thought was right. Eret took off his crown and looked at it. He yelled as he slammed it down in anger. It chiped but Eret didn't care. He left it there as he walked to the roof of his castle. He sat on the edge taking in the soft breeze. He took his glasses off wiping his eyes.
Niki and Fundy were walking down the path. Niki was explaining why he didn't like Schlatt to Fundy as he walked and listened. Fundy looked up and stopped grabbing Nikis attention.
"Fundy?" Niki asks. He points up. Niki sees a firmiliar man sitting on the edge. She noticed the tears falling from his face.
"Do you know whats wrong with Eret?" Niki asked Fundy but he didn't know.
"Should we go up?" Fundy asked.
"Yes." They made their way up the castle steps and ladders until they reached the roof. Where Eret sat head in hands.
"Eret?" His head shot up at the familiar female voice. He looked around for his sunglasses. Fundy saw them and passed them to him knowing he's insecure about his eyes and he wants him to be comfortable. Fundy and Niki didn't look at his face until they were sure he had them on.
Niki watched as Eret took in breaths.
"Do you want to talk about it Eret?" She asks.
"Yeah just... give me a moment." Niki and Fundy waited.
"Okay.. I think.. I'm sorry." Eret puts his head in his hands again.
"No Eret please. Take all the time you need." Fundy says.
"Okay. I guess. I feel lonely. I turned into a king and was promised another family but they never visited more than once a month. But when I tried to help the other side they just... ignore me." Eret says.
"I guess they are just. Still recovering on what happened the country." Fundy explains.
"But they know me as a traitor."
"We don't." Eret looks at Niki then at Fundy.
"I just don't wanna be lonely anymore..." Niki pulls him into a hug. Fundy slides over and hugs him too.
"If you want Eret. You can still have your castle. But you can hang out with us whenever you want."
"Even if its just being together not doing anything we don't mind." Fundy says.
Eret cried tears of happiness. He didn't feel lonely in the arms of these two people. The all went down the castle. Niki picked up the crown on the floor and went up the stairs to put it on his head.
"Dont lose your crown." They laughed as they walked out.
"Well. I actually plan on going on a adventure tomorrow. Do you want to come?" Fundy asked them. Niki nodded. They both looked at Eret.
"I would love to." They waved him goodbye. Eret watched them leave. Its not the family that he had before. He doesn't think it would ever be the family he had before. But... its better than nothing.
